Dear middle-aged women: capri pants do nothing for you.

I just realized that I wasn't even a middle aged woman when I first started reading this thread.

Haha, I wasn't around when this thread started but was definitely not middle aged yet when it happened. I also wasn't even a mom yet so this website wasn't on my radar. It's fun to have aged into the relevancy of this thread.

Yesterday I literally pulled on a pair of linen pants, realized they had shrunk a bit since I bought them and are now capri length, thought of this thread, and threw them in a pile to be donated. They truly do not look good on me anymore!

Capris make everyone look stumpy. Consider ankle length pants in the summer.

Capris are the worst on anyone. That and tights on a man.

Just so we are all on the same page, please post a link to what you mean by Capri pants.

I mean, I think everyone wears cropped pants that look good. My cropped palazzo pants are so comfy and stylish in the summer heat.

I too remember when this was originally posted. Yes I was middled-aged already then (and more so now). I wore my capri pants on occasion then, and I still do now. I am sure I pass DCUMers sometimes who inwardly scorn them and I am OK with that. I think they look OK (I am tall and thin) but also am not striving to be a fashion plate all the time.

I always laugh when I see this season and post roll back around! Appreciate the sentiment but also will wear what I want 😆 as I enjoy this yearly reminder.

Ugh, no please no.

It was inevitable once ballet flats came back. (Here's a tip ladies from someone who just turned 60 - don't get rid of your old, nicer clothes - especially if you have daughters - because they WILL come back in style again)

This is the TRUTH. My girls would have had an entire wardrobe at their disposal.

And none too soon!

I actually love a man in capris. Seriously. Fat, short, tall…they get an upgrade with capris.
Women, no. Honestly, skirts cover the same territory and are more comfortable.

I’m 55 and have Capri pants. They’re lightweight and cooler than longer pants. I couldn’t possibly care less about what others think of my clothing choices. Judge away, as I really don’t care. It’s all about what makes me comfortable these days.

Me too. I am much more comfortable in a pair of capris than a pair of shorts which show off my cellulite and spider veins. I bet the same snobs who scorn us capri-stas would undoubtedly bash us for doing that ... "OMG. If I had cellulite and/or veins like that I'd NEVER wear shorts!" Pfft.
