| Capris are better than fat legs in shorts. Come on. |
| I wear capris instead of shorts. If you want to see my cellulite thighs, I could stop wearing capris. |
| Women don’t wear capris for the fashion statement or because they think capris enhance their appearance. They wear capris as a compromise between their impulse to keep their bodies covered up and the fact that it’s too hot in the summer to wear long pants. Expose just enough skin that they’re slightly cooler, but still cover up as much as possible. It’s for their own physical and mental comfort, not to appeal to your gaze. |
| They are not called capris any longer. Now they are called “cropped flares.” You got to love the marketers. |
| They're fine. Even my DH wears them. Better than baggy shorts for skinny legs.. |
| WE'RE BACK BABY! |
Yes!! I think this thread marks the season of life when I began reading dcum. I feel like I remember the day this thread arose. Pregnant with my oldest child, now 13 |
| Capris, I mean cropped flares, FOR LIFE!! |
|
Capris looked okay on me when I was younger. I have photos of myself in capris in my 20s and early 30s when I was super thing with narrow little ankles. Plus I wore them with heels often, and it looks fine. Cute even.
I'm in my 40s now and my ankles have lost definition and while I'm still thin, my legs just aren't as attractive as they used to be. Also I almost never wear heels anymore. Capris on my 40-something legs (which are pale because I take sun protection seriously now and even with some self-tanner they will simply never get as brown as they once did) and my thicker ankles with a pair of flat sandals? It's a tragedy, I'm sorry. I have embraced the full length linen pant as well as the midi skirt. Both really nice options that work in the DC heat but don't make me look like a geriatric pensioner on a cruise. |
| Do you think this thread will still be going 27 years from now? |
| We need a definition of capri please? How many inches below the knee? |
I mean this has been debated extensively. Generally this thread applies to all cropped pants, but especially to anything that hits at the calf or higher. People have tried to distinguish between capris, crops, pedal-pushers, culottes, etc., but it just confuses things. So just assume that if it's pants and if they are cropped above the ankle and below the knee, they are covered by this thread. |
| I honestly don't understand the hate. I'll roll my summer pants above the ankle and I think it looks cute. I really don't care what anyone else thinks. |

Not someone reviving a 14 year old thread.
But I agree: capri pants are awful. On everyone. I don’t even like capri leggings for the gym. Long or short - pick a lane, people! |
It gets revived every spring. It's tradition. I also hate capri leggings at the gym. Just do bike shorts, or a thin full length legging. Those capri leggings that hit right at the calf are so hideous. |
