what I don't understand is why did our team fees go up this year, but we are scheduled for less tournaments ?

last year our team played: Dulles, OBGC, Bethesda, VDA Showcase and Jefferson Cup= 5 tournaments. This year the same team one year older in HS we are only doing 4 tournaments total (no showcases) including whatever is going on with the ViVa mess.

I thought the registration fees also covered the game video cameras but have heard that we aren't having those this year either even tho the reg fees also went up.

I'm not familiar with Herndon; however, though that tournaments for older age groups cost more.

I just posted on the ViVa thread. As HS kids, those showcases are so important. Where did you hear no showcases? We were promised showcases but DC claims the coach said they won’t be doing Jeff Cup. WTF? Sorry for the language but I’m so disgusted. And now no video either? So I need to go purchase a VEO for one year of soccer which is crazy expensive. Since MS, every team DC played on had VEO or Trace. Herndon should edit their website to remove any mention of a college soccer pathway. If all the rumors are true, DC will need to start guest playing tournaments.

Last year, our (second level) in-HS age team played in the Loudoun Cup, Dulles, President's Cup (not sure if this counts as a tournament since I think you are put in automatically), Arlington, Va Beach, and Cannon Cup. So 5 tournaments plus the President's Cup.

This year, the fees went up and we haven't heard anything about tournaments. I guess that means we are playing in ViVa?

not to add insult to injury but if your kid is on the herndon 2008 RL team, no one has uploaded their team roster and coach into TGS and we (at another club) were told that was due last week.

We switched clubs (not out of any thing wrong with Herndon), but last year my dc's U13 Herndon RL team played in 6 tournaments plus the state cup and the VPSL tournament.

Only doing 4 this year seems like it should cost less, not more?

I was just thinking a TM might have info to share that’s reassuring. I definitely don’t think a TM should have to do all that. At past clubs, it was the job of paid staff.
