Herndon club

The Herndon - VDA pathway has provided VDA with numerous strong players. It was a great move by VDA and the as a contributing factor that led to the ruin of multiple Virginia Union, Fairfax Brave, and FVU boys teams.

We went to a practice last week and there were four teams on one field: two older teams on one sode (@40 kids) and two younger teams on the other side. Is that normal? It was cramped.

Yes that is called club night. They do that one night a week.

No that is how most teams practice every night. My kid played through U19 and even the older teams are sharing fields. The younger teams get it worse - most times, each age group only gets 1/4 or 1/3 field to practice on.

My son was doing a trial practice with a team and they had 1/4 of the field, another younger team had 1/4 of the field, and two older kids teams (maybe u16?) had the other half. 1/4 of a field for the older teams doesn't seem reasonable. Is that the norm?

At another club and that is the norm. Sometimes even less. We are lucky for the day that we get a 1/3.

Herndon is a good, competitive club that specializes in developing players and sending them to the next level. (ex. ECNL-RL to ECNL) They should focus on building a strong alliance that is convenient so their players will improve there.

Does anyone have info on the supposed national pathway closer to home that they apparently mentioned in a message to current families?

Look to the West…. And stay tuned, it’s coming.

Non sense. Herndon, Sterling and Great Falls will merge in the fall.

Hmm.. will NVA become an actual alliance again? With Sterling? I see Loudoun is trying to expand into Sterling with its Loudoun East...

What a cheap cop out to join FVU. Lazy decision making by the TD. No one from Herndon is making FVU to compete with 5+ clubs. Dumb. Sticking the girls in ECNL RL or GA would have been the smarter move.

The girls can't handle ECNL RL or GA they are 3rd division NCSL at best.

Why even join FVU then?
