| I was always about 118 and after having twins I was 128. When the twins turned two I went back to work at a high a stress job and in the last 9 months ballooned to 138. I am now struggling to lose not the last 10 lbs but 20 lbs. I added in a two mile walk recently, cut out lattes for black coffee with two sugars and I am cutting candy/cookies/sweets. I am usually fairly good at cutting calories and losing weight but for some reason I am a failing! |
| It’s ok! You work full time and have twins. Just concentrate on being healthy mentally and eating healthy, vitamins, etc. one day there will be time to yourself again! |
| At your height, you probably need to cut out all sugar, alcohol and most dairy. Try cream instead in your coffee. |
| I think you'd be better off sticking with lattes but cutting out sugar. Protein in latte milk is better than 2 packs of sugar in black coffee. |

I'm 5'3 and I hear you. It is so much harder for me not to lose weight, but to deal with weight gain because even a couple of pounds makes a big difference for me. 5 pounds for me is a dress size and the difference between my clothes fitting or not fitting.
I have to work out every day, sometimes morning and evening, and watch my diet very, very carefully to maintain my preferred weight. |
| When I need to lose a few pounds, I restrict my carb intake. Lots of protein and veggies, lots of water, limiting salt. |

It's so hard when you're short! I'm about your size and have struggled similarly. I'm maintaining at 125 right now thanks to moderate carb restriction and calorie counting most days as well as 3-4 days a week of orangetheory and lifting. I think to get back down to the 115 I would like to be would require a level of calorie restriction I'm not comfortable with.
I would also suggest cutting out sugar in coffee before you cut out the milk. Use an app like myfitness pal to track how your current calories and macros and figure out how much you may need to cut down to start losing. And walking is great, but it's really the baseline amount of movement you need. I'd suggest starting with some bodyweight exercises at home and then finding a good 30 minute weight routine you can do after the kids are in bed or early in the morning. |
| how many calories are you eating? working out? activity? |

I’m 5’0” and have cut out flour, sugar, and dairy. I’ve switched from wine/beer to vodka/club soda with just the tiniest bit of vodka. I went from drinking 3/4 times a week to 1/2 at most. I’ve switched from tropical fruit (pineapple, watermelon etc) to only apples and berries. I weigh and measure my food and don’t eat any snacks between meals. I have Hashimoto’s but my meds have me in a good range that some doctors consider to be hyperthyroid.
I haven’t lost a pound nor an inch. Sorry, no good advice for you. Maybe you’ll have better luck than I do. |

I am 5 foot 1 and after my second baby I was at about 135 ( normally 115). I was able to lose ONLY after I stopped bfing. But I lost at 1450 cals a day and could go over that if I exercised. I currently lift weights 3 times a week and do a run or walk 1-2 other days. I am 113 and can eat whatever I want to maintain, within reason. I did cut out dairy recently for my skin which makes maintaining easier.
You don’t have to be super restrictive to lose! 1400-1600 a day of whatever you want, plus exercise. It works. |
Because it doesn't matter what you cut out. You won't lose unless you eat fewer calories than you need. |
Cream is dairy? |
| At 138 lbs on that size frame you have to do more than walk and cut out lattes. You will need probably minimum a 500 calorie a day deficit. It's calories in, calories out. You have to cut calories to lose weight. |

Do it before menopause! I was 104 pounds, 5'2" my entire adult life, til age 44. Then I ballooned to 124 in one year and have never lost. I am now up to 129 at age 57.
I work out every day and eat a healthy vegetarian diet. No alcohol. Nothing works. I have accepted that I am very healthy (not on any meds!) but I will never be thin again. Same exact thing happened with my sister and female cousins. We look at each other and say WTF?! |
|
I'm 5'2" as well, right now 120, trying to get back to 114. It's tough. I do best if I cut out sugar, wheat (all grains is better), and eat a high fat, low carb diet.
Also, I love love love fasting. It seems to kick start a nice weight loss for me. If you can do a 24-48 hour fast, then commit to a low carb diet ... you'll lose the weight. |
