| Do you think I'm too big? I see pictures of myself now and I'm no longer skinny but I'm not exactly fluffy. I used to be 120 prior to children. Maybe 130 would make me happier? Anyone relate? |
|
Well we are the same height and I weigh 200 lbs right now and 150 is my goal weight.
Just do strenght training and firm up. I'm sure you look fine. |
| I'm you except after my 2nd I'm now 150. Trying to lose and it's been so hard. I think some people can pull it off but I look best around 125. |
| If you were 120 before then that’s probably the weight you should be now. It has become acceptable in America to gain weight while having young kids but this doesn’t have to be the case. Weighing 130 is one thing, but putting in 40 pounds is absolutely going to show and not look good on you. |
| I don't think you're too big but I do know how you feel. I'm the same height and think I look best at 120. Last time I was there was when I was going through a ton of stress and not eating that much. So, not the healthiest of behavior. Now I'm in a much better place but have crept up and it's hard. I am not a curvy person at all - i.e. no hips, butt or breasts, so my weight goes to my mid section which I think makes clothes look different and less flattering. But I really don't like when I think my face looks heavier. I have one kid and we're hoping for another so part of me feels like, what's the point of trying to slim down now. |
| And, FWIW, at 5'6 and 140 you are in the average area and definitely not overweight by any means. I know bc I was just at the doctor looking at the chart. |
Um, what? Why are you so judgmental--and why can't you do math? |
I thought she wrote 160. Now I see it’s 140. I’m not judgmental. OP asked about her weight and I provided a no BS response. You don’t need to gain 20 pounds as a result of having kids. Maybe 5 or even 10, but not 20. |
Average in the US is pretty bad. |
| I am 5-6 and weighed about 143. I felt “heavy”. I went down to 128 and feel so much better. |
Thanks for letting us know your acceptable amount of gain is that a hard and fast rule? Do you get more lbs for additional
Children? |
| I’m 5’6 and 145 and feel heavy. I’ve done IF since January and come down from 148. Seriously, the last 15 lbs just doesn’t want to move. |
| Weight/height really tell very little of the story. Body type matters. Also, Do you work out? Athletic 140 is different than sedentary 140. I was 118 in my early 20s and am 140 now in mid-30s. I run and lift daily and I’m in better shape today at 140 than I ever was at 118. |
| I was 138 (I'm 5 ft 5) and was pretty unhappy. I was only able to get to 130 after a year of really dieting. I now weight train and that puts me at 132 but I feel much much better. So those 8 pounds made a huge difference for me. |
| I’m 5’6 and feel like my ideal window is around 128-133. I’ve gone down to 120-123 and look totally emaciated in my face (I’m 38 and have a long, narrow face) and up to 136 and just felt not as good. My legs did look awesome at my lowest weight, though. |
