There has been speculation that it was after the White House Correspondent's dinner that Trump may have finally decided to run for president. During that dinner, Obama mocked Trump mercilessly even as Trump sat there and had to listen to it.
We know that Trump is thin-skinned and what Obama did to him must have been humiliating. But if the speculation has any basis - and, yes, Trump has flirted with running for decades - it would be the ultimate irony that a bunch of jokes about Trump by Obama was the catalyst for Trump seeking the presidency and ultimately winning the election .......... and in the process undoing much of what Obama thought would be his legacy. |
Surely, the party of personal responsibility would reject this assertion. |
Obama is all powerful. |
You could say that if he managed to provoke Trump into running! Thanks Obama. |
Well the good news is that Trump wants to undo everything Obama did. |
So much for Obama's legacy! |
Yes he was. Not for the reason you mentioned though. He was responsible for Trump by being black. Sad. |
Trump has been considering a presidential run since 1988. He is no political neophyte and if anything, it is his overt racism that prompted this more than any slight at a dinner. |
Here’s really trying his best to undo Obama’s thriving economy and 12,000 point stock market gain. |
OP, Obama is responsible for Trumps decision to run. This is why politicians and people in power need to be careful about what they say. Same is true for Trump.... |
I am inclined to think you are right. I would never have thought so until Trump actually began running and especially after he became president and it was apparent how thin-skinned he is about anything he construes as a slight. There have been quite a few reports from people who attended the dinner that he was fuming as everyone laughed at Obama's jokes about him. I think it was that more than anything to do with race that caused Trump to detest Obama. He would like to undo anything that can be seen even remotely as Obama's legacy. A clear case of unintended consequences ......... |
If Obama had let Hillary win the first time, she would have had two terms and he could have taken over in 2016 and now be president.
So, maybe! |
And as an added bonus, there wouldn't have been a BENGHAZI!!! |
think of the cockups she’d have as POTUS. |
None? |
