I would never have thought so until Trump actually began running and especially after he became president and it was apparent how thin-skinned he is about anything he construes as a slight. There have been quite a few reports from people who attended the dinner that he was fuming as everyone laughed at Obama's jokes about him. I think it was that more than anything to do with race that caused Trump to detest Obama. He would like to undo anything that can be seen even remotely as Obama's legacy.
