Only to the extent that Trump will be responsible if a woman or a minority member becomes president in 2020. |
I don't think he's responsible for Trump -- but I believe Trump's election was a direct result of Obama. The people who really hated Obama voted for Trump in droves. |
So did a lot of the people who voted for Obama. |
The whole point is that the turds say they didn’t even want to vote for Trump but did it just to spite the liberals. But they secretly did want to vote for Trump. So talk to them about voicing their opinion — they can’t seem to do it accurately. |
Who is this "they" you are talking about? First, I don't know anyone who said they voted for trump to "spite the liberals" - although the hate is so strong on the liberal side that I expect they would do the same in reverse. No, many voted for him, nose held, because Hillary and democratic policies are even worse. Why would you be surprised? Two-thirds of the country said we were moving in the wrong direction under Trump. And Hillary was promising more of the same! And the fact that you call people who didn't vote for your candidate "turds" proves the other PP 's point. |
Honestly, no. I know many, many people from my hometown, including family members, who voted for Trump out of spite of Obama's "elitism." These are all people who exclusively listen to Fox news and right wing radio, so they have been told for years that Obama is the undoing of America, etc. If you hear something enough, you believe it and act accordingly. The big thing is that it's a messaging that drove these people to vote the way they did. And it was definitely against their interests. All of these people live in communities that are going to be killed by the tariffs, didn't benefit from tax reform beyond a couple of bucks in their checks, and many of whom actually got healthcare for the first time because of Obama care. Doesn't matter. The message is clear, these liberals are evil and you have to stop them from...fill in the blank. You even see it here. The messaging is crazy. It can make anyone turn on common sense. |
Exactly. So the "emperor-has-no-clothes" question is, why did so many Obama 08 and 12 voters choose Trump in 16? But Dems can't dare to ask that obvious question because it breaks their stupid "it's Russia! it's racism" therapeutic narrative. |
Definitely does kill their racism angle. How in the world can you accuse someone who voted for Obama of being a racist, simoly because they decided Democratic policies were taking the country in the wrong direction? (I'm one of those people: Obama voter turned Trump). The choice came down to two horrendous candidates: a horrendous candidate with policies I (mostly) disagree with, or a horrendous candidate with policies I (mostly) agree with. Choice B won. |
That you equate a not well qualified candidate with this train wreck suggests you hate your country and your children who inherit the mess. |
Ah, so now you accuse me of hating my country, simply because I did not want a continuation of Obama's policies (which 2/3 of the country agreed were heading us in the wrong direction). Do liberals go on the attack - racist! You hate the country! - when they disagree with a person's vote in order to drive them into silence? I thought we had free elections in this country, where people can choose which policies they prefer. |
....actually, I rethought my answer: I don't equate them. While they are both horrible, corrupt, and dishonest people, Hillary might be a tas etter on a personal level, but still pretty despicable. (She called all those Americans deplorable, for example.) Possibly. But no question that her democratic policies were worse. So I decided based on policies. Now I know that this is a hard concept for liberals, but if Democrats put up a decent candidate with integrity, I most likely would have gone with him/her even though the policies were wrong. But considering that the D candidate was almost as bad on a personal level, and substantially worse on a policy level, I went with policy. |
According to people like the PP and De Niro, you should only vote for candidates who agree with their political views and have their approval. |
+1 Many DCUM Trump supporters openly admit to voting out of spite. |
Trump's policies are horrible. So if we think you're horrible it's because you like his policies and could tolerate his corruption/lies/mess. Not just because "you voted for the other candidate". |
Of course, you can. And we can call you out on that when we think the policies are crap. |
