Trump wanted to release immigration detainees onto the streets of “sanctuary cities"

So, because of this liberal hypocrisy "call out", the Dems took 40 seats in the House in 2018 and now have control of it. Yep, it's been growing stronger and stronger.

You hear the hypocrisy on this thread.

And when people vote, they'll vote with a PRIORITY. So while your "Hate Free Zone" neighbor is preaching about how horrible Trump is, you will never really know how s/he voted.

No D will win unless s/he has a strong immigration platform that will address the safety concerns many Americans have.

This much I know.

You do realize that sanctuary cities are by and large cities where immigrants - both legal and illegal - ALREADY live. They are already here. And many of our communities are rallying to make it possible for them to live their fullest lives and become contributors to our regions. It's not a punishment - it's the American way.

Exactly - it’s NOT a punishment. So why are Democrats so very outraged?? They should be tickled pink.

For the 100000th time...

It’s not that Dems think it’s a punishment, it’s that Trump and Miller sat down to think of a way to punish Dems for the ICE funding for beds. Trump thinks it’s a punishment he can inflict on Dems in retaliation for budget negotiations.

I think he should go ahead with his plan. If ICE doesn’t have the funds for the buses he should loan out his campaign buses and take full credit for his plan. It would certainly make him look like a compassionate guy.

Yes, we know - you've repeated your spiel for the 100000th time. The point you seem to be deliberately avoiding is: SO WHAT if Trump thought it would be a "punishment"? Many of you have repeatedly said it would *not* be a punishment to receive these immigrants. Though I question how many of you actually live in the targeted sanctuary cities - easy for you to say how much they'd be welcome if you're not even living there.

Finally, what's your explanation as to why Democrats refused funding for ICE beds? If beds are needed, why are they not being funded by the very people who insist these migrants are so welcome here?

POTUS planning punishment for citizens of the his own country is OK in your books?? Seriously???

Oh, for crying out loud. You are completely unable to carry on a normal conversation. The fact is: sanctuary cities (and Democrats in general) are insisting this would be no punishment at all for them, and that they would happily welcome a large influx of immigrants. It's not as if they've announced that it *would* be a punishment. So if they're assuring the country that it's no problem for them, then we should take them at their word. Can even a tiny part of your brain comprehend this, or are you going to continue beating this into the ground?

I agree with that PP - the POTUS sitting down to brainstorm ways to punish US citizens over budget negotiations is deplorable. But I guess that what ya’ll like about him. You certainly have no issue with it.

Here's a question that still hasn't been answered (since you brought up budget negotiations): why did Democrats deny funding for more ICE beds? Riddle me that.

When the biggest gay-loving liberal like Cher comes out in favor of putting citizens first, I don't care if Trump is acting like an ass or not. His statements are waking people up to the logistical issues facing the absorption of more illegal immigrants.

So, yes, you think he’s acting like an ass but, no, you don’t care.

Only took 47 pages to get an answer.

I don't care at this point, no.

I've been preaching what Cher has just not posted. I believe that until we handle our internal problems, we need to limit external problems.

Many of you are very simple, as you haven't lived enough to see what some of us have seen. Gang issues are a problem. You may not think they're coming in, which is your prerogative to keep your head in the sand. So I'll spin it this way. Young, vulnerable kids are entering the country. Many will fall prey to these monsters.

And yes, they use machetes. And they're in neighborhoods that were once considered middle class and suburban. They rape. They kill. They deal drugs. They're in your local schools. Many are smart enough to stay under the radar. But others like to tag, which gives them away. Once you find one, the school resource officer is on the hunt, partnering with other local cops to find the gang.

So while I know many from Central America are escaping gang activity, we don't have the supports in place her to handle them either. There are far too many in our suburban and urban schools who will recruit them as young as upper elementary. And they will indeed rape - and gang rape - the girls as part of gang initiation.

This issue cannot be overlooked or minimized.

Welcome to Mont. Co! This was created in 2017. I don't think it's gotten any better . . .

In our area gang recruiters may target specific high school classes. John McCarthy says students coming from Central America often get put in supplemental English or math classes together.

"A lot of these kids are (performing) below grade level. They're so far below grade level, they probably shouldn't be in high school. But they come here 16,17,18 years old and they may be functioning at a fourth or fifth grade level educationally," said McCarthy.

MS-13 recruiters target the vulnerable students in these classes.

"Well the gangbangers know that these kids have been clustered in those classrooms for these classes. Well it's almost like we've brought them together in a fishbowl," said McCarthy. He describes the need for more community support for these students, so they may be prevented from falling into the gang.

Oh no. The MAGAs in blue areas won’t be very happy....

You know what makes no sense about this thread. It's the idea that immigrants are "released" in areas and they would just stay there. No, they are free to go where they choose to go. Often that is where they have friends or relatives. I don't think they are put into places. The whole idea is just bonkers.

What's bonkers is that they're released into the country at all. That's truly bonkers.

PP here. Yes, that makes no sense either. Trump is going to bus illegals to sanctuary cities? Why doesn't he deport them?

What if he does? Your point?

Do you think he does?

Ah, yes - the poster who will only answer a question with a (pedantic, repetitive) question. Your many questions have been answered, and then some. Move on if you have nothing further to add.

Wasn’t actually answered until page 47.

It actually has been answered several times, you just refuse to accept the answer. So now you can STFU with your idiotic questions. I hope everyone ignores you.

Which page? Oh right. You’re just full of sh1t.

Was it really that hard to admit that you’re a deplorable and you love it when Trump acts like a deplorable?

So is Cher a "deplorable" now that she's spoken the truth about what an influx of immigrants would mean to her city? Is anyone a "deplorable" in your book if they disagree with you? If so, there's a whole country full of "deplorables" who think you are a complete idiot.

This is about punishing liberals because the entire concept is actually breaking campaign promises.

"I'm going to crack down on illegal immigration"

"I'm going to drop random groups of illegal immigrants off at street corners in the night, in a city with a policy not to turn them back in, basically assuring I'll never see them again."

I mean...if you care about illegal immigrants not being in this country why would you support this? You know we have these things called cars that would let any of these people drive to your house. I'm totally fine with my city in taking immigrants but this whole plan sounds super self defeating and dic$ish
