but our agency has money to keep working....

Is your agency allowed to use that money though? Our agency has enough for operations for 2.5 weeks, but OMB is telling us to shutdown on Oct 1 anyway.

DP. My office is fee funded and we've been told multiple times to report to work as usual and also led to believe we will get paid on time. Basically, operating as if nothing ever happened.

We are independent agency and fee funded and have always continued. But we have been told we are SHUTTING DOWN ANYWAY. to make a political point certainly.

Our agency has said contractors can continue to work during a shutdown, which is the first time that's been allowed.

This is what we heard for our agency as well. We have almost 2 weeks of leftover funds that we cannot spend to keep our agency open.

Different poster, we still haven't heard if OMB is granting our waiver. There's a giant event planned for tomorrow that they keep pushing. The optics will be quite bad if they go ahead with this event when everyone else is shut down.

At this point, you need to assume OMB isn't approving your waiver. They didn't approve ours to use leftover funds and I haven't heard of any agency getting approval so far.

They canceled the event. It's 4 PM and we haven't heard anything yet. We've worked through every shutdown before. This is nuts.

Our agency's human resources sent out an extremely partisan email warning us about the potential shutdown.

If they want to chase everyone away from government, they are doing a good job of it.

I think everyone got that. So inappropriate and demeaning.

We got a similar email from our agency comms. It wasn't very professional.

Anyone know when tonight’s vote will be?

Just ridiculous. Laws don't matter anymore.

That's because this administration doesn't hire anyone who actually knows that there are laws about this stuff.

I’m at an independent agency too and we’ve always been allowed to use carryover funds but we’ve heard nothing yet. Literally nothing and it’s 445pm.

Same. It's really strange.

I am excepted, and the email I got wasn’t partisan. “While appropriations will lapse on 1 October 2025, we are hopeful that a resolution will be crafted to avoid the need for a shutdown. Should it become necessary, an orderly shut down for employees…”
