Fair warning. The equal playing time at Capital gets reduced in summer tourneys as coaches try to figure out who will be staying with the team next year.

Wrong. Never saw this happen once during all three years our DD played for Capital. It was always equal, often at the expense of winning close games but for the bigger goal of maximizing the number of team recruits.

Sophomore year, I completely agree. But freshman year summer, I've seen less PT for girls at top and bottom of the roster as coaches try to figure out who will be there next year. To be fair, everyone plays every game. But in the last few tourneys, it becomes pretty clear who won't be on Blue next year.

You definitely have never had a kid on Capital. Unless you are just delusional.

Yes, I had a 24 on Blue. Ask the girls who got bumped down to Orange after freshman year how much they played at Mid-Atlantic and G8.

2024s are not relevant - Capital has learned their lessons from the 2025 team. Equal playing time is the way to go.

not to mention freshman year doesn't matter so once they knew they were getting rid of those girls they decided to move on

Could you share where your 2027 Girls team practices and when tryouts happen for the 2024-25 year?

Anonymous
This spring practices appear to be at SSSA whereas in the fall they were at Holy Cross.
Anonymous
Summer practices are at the Field School in DC. They don't start practicing until the end of the high school season.

Does anyone know how Stars Lt Blue did in the STJ winter league?
Anonymous
Tourney Machine.

Looks like Stars LB 2027 is 6-0 in the lower high school division (Navy). Not sure about the level of competition.

9th graders though, right?

Yes, all 9th graders.

Is this class up to the level previous classes have been or is there a drop in talent?

Is it okay to switch clubs between your freshman and sophomore year?

Yes, but make sure it's the move you want to make because that will be it after this year movement will almost be non-existent when teams lock in the rosters.

I would add to the PP to be sure you aren’t suffering from the “grass is greener” syndrome and to be certain your DD will be moving to a better club if she makes it.
