I would add to the PP to be sure you aren’t suffering from the “grass is greener” syndrome and to be certain your DD will be moving to a better club if she makes it.

If your DD is on MCE the grass is always greener just move and as fast as possible...

Does anyone know if the NL coaches will stay next season, or will they switch them? Last season I got the impression they weren't all uniformly very happy to be coaching the 2027 team, just really uncommunicative and never really seemed happy to be at practice or games. It was super odd, they just didn't seem into coaching the girls. Anyone know if they plan to swap coaches?

Thanks. I ask because we live in the city, and there just aren't that many options for girls like there are in VA and MD. Outside of Next Level, what options are there for 2027 girls who live in the city and want to practice somewhat close to home? She wants to join a team that will stay together through high school.

NL is not a good program for HS.

Unfortunately not many options. If you are willing to go to VA, then Stars and Pride are your best bets. Unless she is really exceptional, it’s probably too late for Capital. You could also try MC Elite but I have not heard great things. I don’t think DC proper has any good options, sadly.

What privates in the ISL AA and WCAC have 2027s on varsity, and which ones have ‘27s who start and/or play in every game?

I've seen it in the WCAC with four teams this season SJC, AHC, Ireton, and O'Connell, and with two teams in the ISL Potomac and SSASA, and that doesn't include GC. So GC goalie dad your girl is not the only one...

There is probably a correlation in there between how weak the team is vs. how many play up on Varsity. It's more impressive the better the team. If you can catch and throw you're probably on the Varsity at O'Connell for example.

There are a ton of talented girls spread out among those schools even if the scores and records don't always reflect that. So if as a freshman your DD can get onto the varsity field at any ISL or WCAC school that isn't McNamara then they are doing pretty good for themselves.

Stone Ridge has three freshman who start on Varsity and it hasn't hurt their top 10 national ranking.
