Play off ball, make smart decisions with the ball, learn to shoot properly, play heads up defense. Do all of that and you will win more games than lose. Focusing on rankings is just the wrong place to put your attention. It will put undo pressure on girls and prevent them from developing.

Please deliver pep talk to Capital teams before games this weekend and next weekend. TIA.

If you do all of these things you will win games. Winning games moves a team up in the rankings. The rankings are a measurement of how good a team is it not? There is obviously a correlation. The reason M&D is #1 is because they are good. Stupid argument.

Some of these parents are going to be in for a rude awakening in September. Better they get prepared now, but I doubt that'll happen.

Its because they have talent top to bottom, no weak links. When you play equally that matters.

The equal playing time may come back to bite capital. To beat the good teams you need to play your best players for most or all of the game. Capital teams aren’t deep enough to rotate 22 girls and have success against the top teams. Equal playing time only works when everyone is equal, and that’s not the case. Winning should be a priority for any competitive travel team.

Disagree. All Capital players are strong. The biggest problem now is children (and parents) who only care about their highlight reel.

Winning is definitely not the priority for sophomores in high school. WTF?

My kid's top-20 team has been doing close to equal for two years, would prob be top-10 if they played the top kids only. Now is the time to let the full roster play, who really cares about the win at this stage?

When the girls were younger it was all about development until they get to HS when it mattered. Now that they are in HS, winning doesn't matter? It's funny how this is competitive lacrosse but nobody cares about winning. The teams that say this are the ones that can't win on a consistent basis.

Winning at this stage is irrelevant and does not matter at all. At this point, as long as the teams can stay competitive with the teams in those top brackets, they will continue to be placed in them, win or lose. And as long as they are in those top brackets, they will get the looks from the top programs.

One of the fall tournaments didn't have scoreboards up, no winning does not matter this year for the 2027s. Obviously you want to be competitive but no, its not like it was years prior, you can feel it in the air.

So when does winning matter? Asking for a friend.

Winning enough games to stay in the top brackets at this age group is the only reason it matters. More coaches will be at the fields where the top brackets are being played and college coaches could care less who won the game. They will also go to non-top brackets on occasion to see a specific player but it is a lot harder to be seen. Equal playing time should be the goal at this age but if you don't have strong enough players to win enough games to stay in top brackets you might need to adjust.
