What SHOULD Dems do?

People overreacted to some of the progressive policies because the GOP duped them. Move away from the unpopular policies, focus on bread and butter stuff, how to make things more affordable for the average person, jobs, etc. (the economy stupid). We should have plenty to work with after Trump decimates everything with his absolutely batshit policies. Eyes forward and on the prize. No weakness.

This + 1 million.

Our moderates are Republicans. We need a progressive who will fight for everyday Americans.

Allow Joe and Jill Biden to rebuild the party:

This is the way.

Every accusation is a confession.

Always with these MAGA. They are so diseased and corrupt, they assume everyone else is. They cannot conceive of people who have principle and decency.

There’s not much Democrats can do about #3, but the others are things they can and should be fighting back against, tooth and nail. It’s not in their nature to play hardball, but if the party wants to survive, it’s going to have to learn quickly.

Actually, there is, California can split up. Should be three to six states, like Oregon and Washington. However, it is the Democrats in charge in California that prevent this.

I’d like to see the National Popular Vote compact pass. Just needs another few states to ratify it. Elections should be decided by people, not land.

You didn't address why Democrats haven't segmented California. If it's important to you.

The reasoning for it is pretty straight forward. Look how much solidarity densely populated areas have. They know what the rules are, and they still fail to reach out and build platforms that rural people want.

The founders wrote it in the constitution. "Dense urbanites are losers."

Ouch.

Indeed the founders were wise. The Electoral College and 2 senators from each state give rural areas a voice. The smart thing to do is for urbanites to adopt policies that appeal broadly. Instead, they hurl insults.

I find it hilarious anytime conservative /MAGA/ GOP supporters come on here and accuse liberals or urbanites of hurling insults when that is ALL YOU DO ALL THE DAMN DAY.

Stop projecting your BS onto others. They are not insulting you, they are telling you facts. But you find facts offensive.

No, it absolutely is not. Gross

Our borders were not open. You know it. I know it.

They might not technically have been open, but the doors (literally) were left open and we looked the other way as migrants streamed in.

BS. Moreover you pointing to Biden and Kamala just shows your biases. No president going back to the 90s at least had a handle on immigration. that includes Republicans. That includes Trump in his first term.

I spent the weekend researching Jon Ossoff after seeing his name mentioned a few times on here. I am now pushing family and friends to do their own research on him. I think he's the future of the Democratic party.

They hate facts but it doesn't make them false. Biden deported more during his slowest year than Trump did during any of his 4 years his first term.

Trump:
2017 - 387,340
2018 - 487,170
2019 - 518,360
2020 - 608,410

Biden:
2021 - 1,344,250
2022 - 1,468,060
2023 - 1,200,270
2024 - 777,580

Here's a fun, colorful, easy-to-read graphic of the deportations of Obama vs. Trump 1.0 vs. Biden: https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-deportations-illegal-immigrants-trump-biden-lindsey-graham-1998758

And here's where the data is from: https://ohss.dhs.gov/topics/immigration/immigration-enforcement/immigration-enforcement-and-legal-processes-monthly

And the President who has deported the most in recent history is Clinton with a total of 12,300,000 from 1993-2000 (https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/obama-record-deportations-deporter-chief-or-not).

The question isn’t how many they deported, it’s how many they let in.

No-one other than hyperpartisan upper middle class Dems ever says that the border was closed during the “Biden Harris” administration or that “the Democrats are the REAL tough in the border party.” If zero other people believe you, it’s not helping you to repeat it.

Something funny about today’s Dems is their assumption that voters have no memories, don’t care about policies or performance, and can be won back at any time via “messaging.”

Dems have now lost the working and middle classes. Instead of recognizing the severity of that error, Dems say, “In the midterms, our powerpoint slides should have a couple of bullet points about the working class and the middle class.”

It’s funny.

And how is all the MAGA yammering about the border helping the middle and working classes? Savings have been decimated. Layoffs are increasing. Farmers and manufacturers are losing markets?

So where is the improvement Trump promised?
