What SHOULD Dems do?

Assuming that we’re the best party with the best policies, how can we dumb down those facts so voters understand them next time?

Could we hire some macho southerners to do the talking for us? What about some online teens? Don-we have to drop Buttigieg and go with Booker? Will je resonate better with the lowest common denominator than a gay egghead mayor?

If we’re being out communicated by dumb people, we have to dumb down the messages and the messengers. Should we dcurbanmoms talk less? Put out some less affluent and more basic spokespeople?

What do we do?? People don’t like us because we’re almost too smart. Is it time to get dumb? Time to get Trumpy?

Democrats aren' the best party with the best ideas and policies. They let progressives take over and instantiate nutty ideas. They became the party of elitists.

You haven't been paying attention. Get out of your echo chamber.

Says the moron just parroting GOP propaganda talking points.

Dems of today have better policies than GOP of today on everything but immigration. But that alarm has been heard loud and clear. Dems could do a great job without all of the horrors of the GOPs tactics if they commit to the will of the voters.

Messaging is truly the problem. The GOP does lies and manipulation way better. We need to learn to appeal to emotions, not logic.

It’s clear from these attitudes that most upper middle class Dems don’t even realize how unpopular they and their Party are with normal people. Dems are still years away from even beginning to make the necessary changes to compete.

+1 million agree with all of this

I became upper middle class. But I was not born that way and I retained a lot of connections and openness. Some things you don’t forget and my family keeps me humble I am in my 40s. At least a few times, I was shut down and shunned by leftists when I shared my more moderate views. And I’m not that moderate! it’s been an unpleasant ~four years— not terrible but i definitely felt out of sync. Now the extremists are in charge and I don’t feel so foolish for all of my moments of dissent

Please stop shutting down dissent. You may learn how to win back an election
Don’t tell me that this sounds ironic given the current situation. I am aware

This. Democrats have to learn to stop thinking they know everything and that they have nothing to learn from the unwashed masses

Clinton. A Dem. and he did RIF, but it wasn't this thoughtless/mindless, brutal nonsense.

Rep. Gosar's bill would immediately end the OPT program, and expressly prohibits any future administration from creating a similar program without the consent of Congress.

Kaine does not support
Warner does not support
Connolly does not support

Republicans created the bill but no democrats will join and help US workers

Not all stem graduates are employable

The progressive response to any pushback on some issues was unfortunate. But nothing compares to the complete hijacking of our government, our media!, our judiciary RIGHT NOW. If you want to see what real extremism and real shut down of dissent is LOOK THE F AROUND YOU RIGHT NOW AT THE FASCIST TRUMP ADMINISTRATION.

The progressives "cancel culture" had nothing on Trump and the fascist GOP. I'm tired of the whining about that when our country is being dismantles by con men billionaires.

WAKE THE F UP.

Maybe if you say the magic incantation “UpperMiddleClassStriverDems” AGAIN (for the 700th time in this thread) a genie will appear and make everything you said true.

That group is the problem. If they stepped aside and let Black Christians run the party for a while, Dems (and the country) would be better off. There were some black Christians posting on here recently, but I think the Upper Middle Class Karens chased them off.

Literally any other faction of the Democratic party would be an improvement. Unions could probably do it

Yea but that was 25 years ago with a legitimate POTUS in a time of relative world peace . When you elect 80 year old presidents that could care less about a budget or the future, you get what you asked for.

Because you are losing elections with your toxic attitudes towards potential political allies.

Stop reflexively calling everyone a racist or fascist because they say something you don't like. They might be right and you might be wrong.

And this is why you keep losing elections.

It's not just immigration.
It's men in women's locker rooms.
It's definitely
It's the abandonment if the working class
It's the colleges, the media, three education establishment. They have all lost touch with the voters

I think every day the Dems need to ask themselves…what would Brian do? He’s Trump’s ace-in-the-hole economist. When the economy declines tomorrow, every journalist should have him in and we should listen to every single word he says and then do exactly that!

The Democrats are directly responsible for Trump winning. We turned people off. They don’t like us, trust us, or believe us. No-one sees us a people who could “save democracy.” Even people HORRIFIED by Trump don’t wish WE were in charge, don’t wish they had voted for Kamala. Not only did we bring this curse into America by OUR actions and attitudes, we continue to make it worse. We are FAR less popular now than we were after Biden’s fatal debate!
