"Smoked" seems a little aggressive. Having seen a couple of the other teams play, I might not put SR on top of the ISL going into league season, based on recent results, but how did we get to "smoked"?

We watched Penn Charter and the one shot in the first half game. Like I said, smoked.

Stone Ridge is stacked, their 25's are probably the best in the area. Their 26's are strong, they have 3 killer 27's and each one of those classes has depth.

This hasn't aged very well.

Aged... They haven't even played an ISL game yet.

If I was a St Johns person I would be worried, if SR try to go out and make a point, that score could get ugly.

SR coach may have to do more than just roll the ball out this year. She is very good at yelling. Let's see how good she is is at coaching this year. 1-3 start can't make her too happy.

And that 1 win they squeaked out … could pretty easily have been 0-4. But they have some easier games coming up. There are just big gaps between teams so a lot depends on schedule.

Top D.C. teams aren't touching top Baltimore or Philly teams. Maybe GC last year, but that's about it. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

where as the top teams are not at the level of the best in Maryland and Pennsylvania the overall quality of girls lacrosse in dc/va has greatly improved. a few years back the best players all played for SSSA and Visi or Ireton. with some other top players still staying with their public schools. The big 3 consistently beat the best from the country. They also waxed the public school ( SSAS 19 Robinson 2). Now there is justification for these public school girls to stay put and play high level lacrosse and be recruited from the publics. So i feel that the difference is that the Privates dont get all the top players anymore and that has diminished their capabilities against the historically strong national teams. just an opinion...

I think you could also argue the top public girls still go to privates, the talent has just spread out over more privates. SSSAS and Visi don't have the stranglehold they once had. Probably 8 or so solid privates now depending on year.

This is a nice aspirational post, but I can see the same data as you and the “top” players in the area overwhelmingly come from the private schools.

There is more talent spread out between SR, Visi, GC, Potomac, SSSA, Ireton, SJC, PVI than the talent at Agnes Irwin and Episcopal.
