If you haven't heard anything about tournaments your Herndon team is playing in the new Villareal tournament on Labor Day weekend.
Sounds like it will be bad. Check the thread on that. |
| For those who haven’t heard anything from Herndon, have you emailed Julian Lee Chang, General Mgr? He usually responds back quickly. If that doesn’t work, I would ask the coach directly after practice. |
congrats on getting the thread probably locked |
Why would this lock the thread? Julian Lee Chang has been super responsive and I have zero complaints about him, but I don’t understand why our coach and TM aren’t communicating at all (they do exist per PlayMetrics). |
Ugh, well thanks for the info at least. Sad when you get more facts about your team from an anonymous stranger than your own coach or club. |
| That's what we are here for! |
Congrats on being strong & wrong …way to go champ 💪 |

Here's the teams list, for those wondering about the girls teams. That is a lot of teams without managers. If the club is just pushing info to managers and expecting the managers to communicate to each team, that is a lot of families not getting any info. (And who is submitting the rosters to leagues and dealing with all the player cards and admin stuff for the teams with no managers? No one?)

I have 5 messages about the rec league registration carnival and 0 information or emails from the coach or from the club specifically about our dc's team. No team manager--and no requests for a volunteer?-- no info on league games, no info on tournaments and no tournaments apparently are scheduled.
The club sent an email out last week saying the coaches and TMs were sent the tournament schedule and would inform the teams-we have been told nothing. The coaches and TMs were apparently sent the league game schedule 2 weeks ago, we have been told nothing. All that is on our app is practices. Friends on other teams have all the game matchups and tournaments in their app, and have held team meetings with the coach, and received regular messages from the TM and coach. Why would the club rely on team managers to share information knowing they failed to find managers for over ten teams? I'm a little baffled by the communication strategy here. I get it, carnivals are great! But they can't seem to get the comm basics down. |

My kids have played for multiple clubs (not Herndon, I just read because I'm nosy). *May* is the time they usually request volunteers for managers. Sometimes early June. When people are excited about the coming season and before they are checked out on summer vacation.
Who would be willing to agree to do it so late when you will be scrambling to make deadlines or have already missed deadlines and the other parents are all irate with the club about the non-communication? It's a thanksless job in the best of times. |
| If the club hasn't even asked once! if the parents on the teams with no managers if they would be willing to volunteer, then they deserved to be dragged on here. That's crazy. They....haven't even asked one time and the season is already started? How would you, as a parent, even know that the team doesn't already have a manager, if no one has mentioned it? |

| My kids have been on teams sometimes where it took some wheedling to get someone to volunteer, but the asking usually started in May/June. If I didn't hear anything from a club until August, I would assume someone else had volunteered. |

My question is since practices have started, why not ask the coach when you see him/her?
|
| Alot of people don't want to seem like the problem parent or piss off the coach. |
