Try SARS, MERS, and Ebola.

Maybe it wasn’t. But the point is there should be maturity in becoming a powerful country.

I agree and since bats are so well known to carry diseases that seem to jump to humans frequently no one should be catching them for any reason.

The “wet markets” as a whole should be closed and banned. And we should be more concerned about deforestation.

Yes, it's good, but it has been posted at least 3 times now. This thread is a monster, maybe it should be subdivided into weeks or something, so you don't have to read 500 pages but it's not as repetitive.

- Age: The younger you are, the less likely you are to be infected and the less likely you are to fall seriously ill if you do get infected:

Age | % of population | % of infected | Fatality
:- | - | - | -:
0-9 | 12.0% | 0,9% | 0 as of now
10-19| 11.6% | 1.2% | 0.1%
20-29 | 13.5% | 8.1% | 0.2%
30-39 | 15.6% | 17.0% | 0.2%
40-49 | 15.6% | 19.2% | 0.4%
50-59 | 15.0% | 22.4% | 1.3%
60-69 | 10.4% | 19.2% | 3.6%
70-79 | 4.7% | 8.8% | 8.0%
80+ | 1.8% | 3.2% | 14.8%

*Read: Out of all people who live in China, 13.5% are between 20 and 29 years old. Out of those who were infected in China, 8.1% were in this age group. This does not mean that 8.1% of people between 20 and 29 become infected. It means that the likelihood of someone at this age to catch the infection is somewhat lower compared to the average. And of those who caught the infection in this age group, 0.2% died.*

In a nutshell: The older you are and the less healthy you are the more likely you are to become infected and fall seriously ill or even die from the illness.

Presumptive case in Sarasota, Florida - https://imgur.com/gallery/oCMXwzT

7 new cases in Northern Calif, including a husband and wife who appear to have gotten it in Egypt - https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/03/01/two-healthcare-workers-presumptive-positive-for-coronavirus-live-in-alameda-solano-counties/

Egypt appears to be underreporting cases as France and Canada also have cases imported from tourists returning from there. (officially Egypt says they only have ONE coronavirus case)

4 new cases including one death in Washington state.

All four were patient at the LTC facility. This brings the King County, Washington total to ten cases and two deaths.

Sounds as though the 70 year old man taken to the hospital from the long term care facility did not make it.

The world should do something, maybe sanctions? To try and make China stop, permanently, these disgusting wet markets and the live animal trade.

This virus and all the loss of life appears to have been COMPLETELY unnecessary. I hope there is sustained global anger until China changes some of its ways

Re: Egypt

They reported a new case today, a "foreigner" like the first case, for a total of two. This did not look credible when I learned of the export to Canada. I missed the export to France. And now two exports to the US.

A travel advisory should be put in for Egypt; hiding cases calls for international opprobrium.

They outlawed them a few weeks ago.

Please stop reposting - it’s huge. Or go put it in the “facts” thread.

Sure. Just keep posting the link. It’s the most informative thing on this entire thread though. Every single person should read it.
