Fairfax County Double Murder

She dealt with being married to a cheating POS for her daughter's sake. She made majority of the household income and spent her free time finding fun things to do with her daughter. And this arrogant, nasty, soft pasty "man" not only murders her in cold blood, but he sets her up in such a disgusting way. To make it look like she wants to be raped, to say she was turned on by her job as a sexual assault nurse, to call her a cheater without a shred of evidence. What on earth could this woman have done to deserve such indignity?!?!

Not to mention apparently coaching the child to call the au pair- who helped set up her murder- “mommy” within hours of her mother’s death. That’s one of the lowest points for me

+1. I'm actually shocked that the defense is having him testify. He's unlikeable and his story is implausible. He also seems remorseless. Judge is going to eat him alive at sentencing.

I agree with the poster who said they probably had him testify because he wanted to say that Christine was a cheater who was into kink , and since there was zero evidence of that whatsoever- no digital evidence, no people coming forward to say they’d slept with Christine during her marriage, ZERO EVIDENCE- the only way to introduce that theory was for BB to say it on the stand.

Since the judge said the jury will be ending at 4:30 today, what's the latest we might hear if there's a verdict? 4 p.m.?

I'm betting on Monday but sure would like to see Brenden hauled off before the day is done.

Exactly. When I saw she was a nurse and that she had worked through COVID I was outraged that such a fine person had been the victim of an insidious creep. She and all nurses were the unsung heroes of the epidemic.

You're probably right. But what a catastrophically poor strategy. With no external evidence, no one believes this about Christine. No one is looking to slander a pediatric nurse. And no one benefits from this story except BB. Defense should have played it straight and gone for reasonable doubt (obvs I am rooting for prosecution).

It's heartbreaking on so, so many levels. Here you have Christine searching for family vaction to the Dominican Republic (where CB and BB HONEYMOONED)... and Brendan is encouraging a stranger to come in a attack his wife!

I liked how the prosecution brought up with BB during cross that he couldn't explain how CB got 5 additional stab wounds to the neck after BB came into the room. BB only claimed to see two stabbing actions. And that CB sure did a lot of talking to BB for someone who had 7 stab wounds to the neck. Doesn't make sense that she had ANY stab wounds prior to Joe being killed... which means the only person who stabbed CB was BB.

If the jury is unanimous on guilt later today, they might want to "think about it" over the weekend to be sure that everyone is comfortable with that decision, and come back Monday to be sure they are all on the same page.

Some posters have mentioned that Joe liked to participate in role playing games. Is it at all possible that, if Joe did actually say something like that, that he thought that this was some kind of role play, and so he just went along with what he believed was a scene that they were all playing? So maybe he could have thought the man with a gun yelling, “Police!” was just playing a par?

And? BB and JB knew what was happening. BB and JM killed Joe and Christine. Your weird speculation doesn’t change the crime scene for forensics.

Oh, I don’t think it changes the crime scene or forensics at all. I was just thinking that this innocent man thought he was involved in a completely consensual situation and then this guy bursts in with a guy, and he’s thinking this was just part of it? He had no idea what was really going on.

The whole thing is so sad for him and Christine. It is sickening what happened to them.

I saw Joe -
MAMA interview on WUSA9- she seems so nice and he seems sweet, wonder if he posted a lot on the Politics forum on this site.

Can you give some reasons why you think that?

Exactly. The legal analyst I saw said that BB is lucky the death penalty isn’t available because he think BB would get it. (Court TV analysis)

I agree and thought the same.

I really hope Christine's parents fight and receive custody.

That poor child. What a horrible burden to grow up with. I hope they tell her he's dead.

That would be another burden for her to carry.
She loves her father, she has no idea what he is yet. They should not tell her he’s dead, they should invest in psychological preventive treatment though, and decide then what to do.

100%. The last thing she needs is more lies. Her father did a horrible thing, and she'll have to reconcile that for the rest of her life. Bless her.

The two people in reserved seating- Brendan’s father and the woman in yellow sweater is not Tess, right⁉️

Other than Christine’s dad testimony, were her parents there in the early weeks? Siblings?

Just so very sad for her daughter.

The multiple things happening to CB in those moments were sadistic. She was conscious and dying while looking at the faces of monsters. One man her unwitting rapist, her husband stabbing her to death, and the hideous Brazilian (expletive) shooting the rapist while watching her B gut his wife.

How does one get to the other side? Whatever you believe. Even if it’s nothing. Systems shut down independently, consciousness lives for some short time after physical death. It’s not just lights out.

Such a hideous, painful, terrifying betrayal for a mother whose only thoughts were her daughter!

That’s Brendan’s stepmother whose name is Christine Banfield.
