Can you give some reasons why you think that?

Exactly. The legal analyst I saw said that BB is lucky the death penalty isn’t available because he think BB would get it. (Court TV analysis)

I'm very sorry for you and all those who loved Joe and Christine. I hope justice is served, but it can't possibly take away what you've all lost.

Not the ones that are sealed (explicit crime scene photos)

The ones from yesterday are not available, and they’re not sealed.

It takes a few days, and yes, some of them are sealed. When they introduced them into evidence they clarified which photos were sealed.

It’s usually available few hours after the end of the day. I don’t believe the letters were sealed, for example.

The sheer indignity of Christine's death enrages me. By all accounts she was kind, smart, hardworking, dedicated to her family and job. She dealt with being married to a cheating POS for her daughter's sake. She made majority of the household income and spent her free time finding fun things to do with her daughter. And this arrogant, nasty, soft pasty "man" not only murders her in cold blood, but he sets her up in such a disgusting way. To make it look like she wants to be raped, to say she was turned on by her job as a sexual assault nurse, to call her a cheater without a shred of evidence. What on earth could this woman have done to deserve such indignity?!?!

I really hope we see BB shed real tears after they announce guilty on all counts!

+1. I'm actually shocked that the defense is having him testify. He's unlikeable and his story is implausible. He also seems remorseless. Judge is going to eat him alive at sentencing.

Plus 2. It bad enough to do this, but to paint her this way with a daughter. So incredibly disgusting.

Brendan testified that Joe said something like, “she’s given herself to me, she is mine.”

Some posters have mentioned that Joe liked to participate in role playing games. Is it at all possible that, if Joe did actually say something like that, that he thought that this was some kind of role play, and so he just went along with what he believed was a scene that they were all playing? So maybe he could have thought the man with a gun yelling, “Police!” was just playing a par?

I really hope Christine's parents fight and receive custody.

BB’s speech is very distinctive to me. It’s clipped, stilting, and pedantic. I’m not a psychiatrist, but during my psych rotation in med school, I noticed this type of speech in various types of patients, including some with narcisssitic personality disorder. Anyone with more experience in this area? It sounds like he is not used to taking a deferential role as he is being asked to on the stand, and it’s coming across as stilted and odd.

And? BB and JB knew what was happening. BB and JM killed Joe and Christine. Your weird speculation doesn’t change the crime scene for forensics.

I thought the prosecutor's closing comments about how Juliana really has nothing to gain from this were strong.

If Brenden and Juliana were in the clear and truly had nothing to do with this, then why would she give up her expected freedom by flipping?

She's still going to be a convicted murderer with a very sad future.

He's lying. Delivery is difficult when your brain knows the information is inauthentic. It's also rehearsed, which contributes to the stilted nature of his speech. You're picking up on it because we're evolutionarily wired to detect threats/inconsistencies. We're not always right about why we're noticing what we're noticing, but you're noticing it for a reason (and in this case the reason is that he's lying).

(btw this is the theory behind Gavin de Becker's "The Gift of Fear", and why you teach your kids to not ignore danger signals. They're not always right about why something feels off, but if something does feel off, there's a reason, and it bears pausing to consider it).

I’m thinking it’s just a lie. Joe did say some stuff in those chats that was of a similar gist once the desire from the other side was established. This isn’t that shocking in my experience, it’s basically like the lowest level of BDSM possible. I think Brendan just drew from that because he thought this somehow made a believable motive for Joe.

Juliana testified that Brendan burst in, Joe looked “shocked,” and was shot shortly after.

In Brendan’s story, he needed to explain why Christine get stabbed somewhat concurrently to him bursting in (tbh I’m not sure why he did it this way because it seems to make more sense from his defense POV for all that to occur right before he comes in. Maybe because of the 911 hang up), so he described an extended struggle that makes no sense given Christine’s injuries. So he said he hesitated to shoot and gave commands and all these weird exchanges and grappling between Joe and Christine happened. But I don’t really think any of that occurred, it’s probably exactly what Juliana says, the 911 hang up, then the use of the knife and the staging, then 15ish min later the 911 call.
