Discrimination against Asians

"? you are a moron if you think Trump's aim is to help Asian Americans. Ch1na v1rus anyone?
-signed an Asian American"

You're a fool if you think the Dems care about Asian Americans. They support affirmative action, that pretty much sums it up.
Voting for Trump after being a life long Dem.

Don't feed the racists! They don't contribute to useful dialogue, but it is good to be reminded what many in society are thinking.

I have to say I'm voting Republican this year, too. Our party has just become too "woke."

This whole thing has come to a head too close to the election to be anything but a political stunt. What if this whole lottery plan is just one of those things racists cook up to rile Asian Americans - it’s the one issue that can be relied on to turn them against dems

lol the ones bringing this are the NAACP and the SJW/woke idiots at the Virgina Secretary/Department of Education

The modern democratic party is all about giving plus-ups to blacks period.

You are correct this is a stunt. It is a direct pander to black voters to get more of them to vote for Democrats

lol just telling it like it is

Corporate America doesn't tolerate racism we also don't promote people with bad people skills and/or poor work ethic

Ain’t nobody hardworking as those Asians.

Who is "we", white privileged class?

corporate America try and keep up are you sure you are asian? Look in the real world race doesn't matter if you work hard and have good people skills you will go far. If you don't you won't. Again racism does not exist in corporate America in 2020

Complete BS. Racism in Corporate America is even more prevalent. They use the dog whistle of "people skills", "leadership", and "American culture" to discriminate.

This is one country in the world where you can advance far if you put in effort no matter what your color and having zero dollars when you immigrate
This is not true of very many other countries in the world. That is why everyone of all colors want to come here....for better opportunities
for their families than in their country of origin.

Black voters do not need additional incentives to vote dem. I think this is to inflame the Asian American voter - to create instability and resentment. Foreign hand? Oil money?

Same. I can’t bring myself to vote for Trump but I won’t vote for Biden either and then I’m voting straight Republican down the rest of the ticket just in case Biden wins. I didn’t leave my party first though. They left me. And they’ve gone off the deep end with trying to say that things like “hard work” and “punctuality” and “linear thinking” and “scientific method” and “nuclear family” are “white” values instead of American values. What? I just can’t with that nonsense.

Every up and coming group has faced discrimination.

The Irish, the Catholics, the Jews, Blacks, and Hispanics. Asians are no exception.

This is crazy - who's saying this? I can't believe someone's actually had the gall to say that “hard work” and “punctuality” and “linear thinking” and “scientific method” and “nuclear family” are “white” values instead of American values.

White people are plain ignorant. White immigrant groups are not the same as POC immigrant groups. There have been so many cases of white people who have changed their names in Business, Hollywood, and Music to hide their ethnicity. This isn't possible for people that don't look pasty white. Arguments in this thread promoting the premise that all people have the same opportunity (just work hard) are just dumb and repeat the alt-right narrative of the day. Whites are the gatekeepers in so many industries in America and it's been proven time and time again that white people hire people that look like themselves.

Umm. . . you can't hide an Italian accent, an Irish brogue, red hair, olive skin . . . Discrimination against immigrants from Europe was very prevalent. Please learn history before trying to make a whiteness argument.
