This Is Us. Season 3

We’ve been following Kate this whole time and they don’t even show the delivery? And why didn’t they do flashbacks to Rebecca’s own experience with a high risk pregnancy and losing a baby. Being so happy and devastated at the same time, similar to what I’m sure Kate and Toby are feeling.

Also, Randall and Beth’s childcare dilemma. Why not hire the person they have watching their 3 children while they fly across the country for an indeterminate amount of time (and use the money they spend on all those last minute flights)

Agree, that was a huge obvious and lost opportunity for flashbacks to birth if the big three.

It’s not a good episode when the most appealing character is Madison.

YES. So mad.

I meant "all so" but you got my point. What IS Randall's problem these days? I want his mother to wallop him. After she wrings Kevin's neck first.

I’m having a hard time getting past the stupidity of the city council storyline. Two hour drive each way? Who does that? And who votes for that?

I thought he was going to propose moving the whole family to Philly. That would make more sense.

I really thought he was going to tell Beth he'd decided against being councilman and was going to take a more traditional job closer to home because he didn't want Beth to have to give up her dream job. But no... that didn't happen.

It makes me sad in the flashbacks when Randall is always the "odd man out" among the three. It was always Kevin and Kate being so close... and then Randall.

PP here ^^^. Meant to add that I also thought he was going to tell Beth that he'd decided to be a SAHD so that the kids would always have a parent available and Beth could still teach dance. I really, really thought that's what he was going to say.

That was the end. The preveiws showed Sophie (?) calling out to Kevin.

The best part of the show was Kate’s unmade and a bit blotchy red face at the end — she looked like a real mom.
And the resemblance of her and teenage Kate are uncanny.

And I’m getting tired of Miguel always looking like a dope on a rope.

I wanted them to surprise us and name the baby Kyle after the sibling that passed

Yep I was expecting the same

Poor Miguel. That stupid game, and Toby’s “joke” at the end

Yep I was expecting the same

The entire election storyline is fantasy but if he’d then given it up to SAH so Beth could teach some dance classes, that would have been unbearably comical.

True, but Randall was clearly his mother's favorite so he had that. Jack was the only one who seemed to love everyone in the family equally.

Did I miss flashbacks last night? Flashback Randall is always doing something great while K & K are usually being annoying. I think it worked out fine.

Both were so bad and the entire episode so off, I wondered if the show got new writers.

Kevin is going to poison every relationship all over again. I feel terrible for Zoe, who finally opened up for Kevin, and he's lying like this.

I think that Sophie was pregnant when she dumped Kevin. I know Alexandra Breckenridge was pregnant in real life. That will throw a wrench into Kevin's life at the worst possible time.

Randall is going to get his a$$ handed to him in his city council job and he's going to need to grow into it like his dad had to but will become frustrated for a long while. I think the contrast between Jack always choosing work based on his family needs but his kids all being exactly the opposite is telling.

Beth and Randall will stay together but there is going to be some big shift - the family moving to Philadelphia - now that Miguel and Rebecca won't be in New Jersey either makes it an easier decision. That's where Beth will open her own studio.

Baby Jack will survive.

Surprisingly Mandie Moore said this was her favorite episode of the season and maybe even one of the favorite in the entire show. She said it felt like a one act play and was written by one of the writers who is leaving the show after this episode.

Ew, I hated last night's episode! You know it's bad when I like Kate the best b/c I normally cannot stand her.
