Think the question is more about how many current Pride players go over and tryout for Stars in prep for Capital?

No, the question was geared to both programs anticipating any talent trying out.

Where would the talent come from? There could be a few Rec players that may have been in hiding but otherwise there isn't a mystery pool of talent not already on those teams.

They don’t need to go to stars to prep for Capital. They can go to the same middle school prep clinics regardless of their current club. Capital coaches have pride on their radar as well. No need to switch for 1 year.

A good number of Pride players have historically made the Capital teams. As a PP noted the one exception was the 2023 class when the Pride players stayed together. That team had some great talent as evidenced by awards this year - three PoY and four All Met selections. Outside if this class Pride will place a fair number on Capital. No need to move to Stars.

Where did Stars get this inflated sense of self? They lost to NL last year and barely beat them this year. They are A division cellar dwellers which explains the mental instability of one of the dads. Get a grip.

So the answer is no.

You might see a few disgruntled girls move from one team to another, but nothing major.

I agree. It allows the girls to all get more touches in before going to Capital. I will be honest, 23 class stayed together, and the 24 class didn’t move either.

My hope is that Stars, Pride, she Next Level all try out, along with a few highly talented girls from smaller clubs

Keep middle school for more touches. Save Capital for college exposure

I’m sorry, you misunderstood me. It wasn’t a knock on whether the Pride girls would make it. It was more about whether the Pride girls will make the move over to Capital

My apologies for not being clear on that

Trust me, we know the pecking order, whether we like it or not.

Yes, most of the top Pride girls will probably move to Capital, but there is no need to join Stars to do so. For the 25s and 26s over 10 Pride girls made CLC B so the idea that you need to join Stars to position yourself for CLC is false.

Yet, 2 or 3 girls a year all leave Pride in 8th grade for Stars. I bet they're parents are taking with KJ about it right now. You'll start hearing the rumors from other parents any day.

They may not be the top girls however. And it may have less to do with Capital than to do with SSSA

That is an excellent point. I think it does our girls well by not joining forces until high school. And, oddly enough, they have started to enjoy beating each other up on the field and then talking about it when the game is over. Shows their true competitiveness

They will be fine at Capital as long as the majority of the Pride girls do go to Capital

I agree, you don’t need to be at Stars to makeBlue, but it does put you directly in front of the 28 Blue coach. That’s all I’m saying

The resilience of this theme on this thread is truly remarkable. An amazing need to jockey, or see who might be jockeying, among the parents in the DMV. Seems like focus should be on preparing for Summer Genesis Origins this week. I mean, Capital tryouts are in 13 months, right?

In any event, the Capital 28 coach and CLC decision-makers have a good sense of the talent pool and what clubs they are playing for this year and next. Agree strongly with the point that it's not necessary to be on Stars to make Capital, as well as the suggestion that maximizing touches and time with the ball in your stick in game play in middle school is beneficial.

Is there any way we can give this a rest and talk about actual upcoming games--at least until some of the best players in the DMV are together at American Select next month?

Agreed. Kind of tired of hearing about it. But if you think it is bad now, just wait for all the speculation next year. It is going to be hilarious
