They may not be the top girls however. And it may have less to do with Capital than to do with SSSA

That is an excellent point. I think it does our girls well by not joining forces until high school. And, oddly enough, they have started to enjoy beating each other up on the field and then talking about it when the game is over. Shows their true competitiveness

They will be fine at Capital as long as the majority of the Pride girls do go to Capital

I agree, you don’t need to be at Stars to makeBlue, but it does put you directly in front of the 28 Blue coach. That’s all I’m saying

The resilience of this theme on this thread is truly remarkable. An amazing need to jockey, or see who might be jockeying, among the parents in the DMV. Seems like focus should be on preparing for Summer Genesis Origins this week. I mean, Capital tryouts are in 13 months, right?

In any event, the Capital 28 coach and CLC decision-makers have a good sense of the talent pool and what clubs they are playing for this year and next. Agree strongly with the point that it's not necessary to be on Stars to make Capital, as well as the suggestion that maximizing touches and time with the ball in your stick in game play in middle school is beneficial.

Is there any way we can give this a rest and talk about actual upcoming games--at least until some of the best players in the DMV are together at American Select next month?

Agreed. Kind of tired of hearing about it. But if you think it is bad now, just wait for all the speculation next year. It is going to be hilarious

I’d like to take odds on Stars Dad (“SD”) being removed from his daughter’s next game. I’d say SD is even money to get the boot.

Talk about games, sure?

Stars: Will cruise through pool play at Hershey and lose badly in first round of playoffs
Pride: May go 2-2 at best in pool play and go home with a goodie bag of chocolate

I'm a friend of a friend of a friend of SD and saw video today of their Veo feed. I was hoping for big-time drama but instead I saw he was done dirty by the ref. You can hear him talking the whole time and it's not even close to a talking to let alone a card. In addition, the ref looked like someone who is used to being picked on.

I'm not going to share the link because it's not mine to share but I'm sure someone will.

Think the question is more about how many current Pride players go over and tryout for Stars in prep for Capital?

They don’t need to go to stars to prep for Capital. They can go to the same middle school prep clinics regardless of their current club. Capital coaches have pride on their radar as well. No need to switch for 1 year.

A good number of Pride players have historically made the Capital teams. As a PP noted the one exception was the 2023 class when the Pride players stayed together. That team had some great talent as evidenced by awards this year - three PoY and four All Met selections. Outside if this class Pride will place a fair number on Capital. No need to move to Stars.

Did these 2023 girls from Pride go to top 20 programs?

Maybe a handful, but not that many

I will be honest, I just saw Pride schedule. I think you all have a strong possibility of going 4-0. You all got a favorable schedule

I'd love to understand why there is such insistence NOT to discuss this topic. Perhaps it is the realization that any significant movement would both 1) make one team worse, which would not be desirable for those left behind and 2) make one team better, which would not be desirable for those heading to the B team as a result. Probably for the tippy top girls it does not matter either way, but for everyone else on Stars and Pride it is not worth the risk, so better to shut the conversation down. I actually enjoy all the banter on this site and hold those who try to shut down discussions with the utmost contempt.

Providing another point of view...Although YJS is still relatively new the program directors are the LI club directors. If this is truly about connections for recruiting YJ overpowers Pride, STJ and Capital combined!

Yeah, except YJ doesn’t allow them to use the NY connections. I have heard from girls who have tried

They were probably told the truth about their lax ability. Access to yj is access to yj.

No, they were told they were not allowed to call YJ LI folks. Nothing about her ability. Not arguing, just telling you what happened

The NY team is probably swamped placing all their players. They have multiple teams per age group. Should be interesting to see how new programs effect the current status quo.

"utmost contempt". You need a greater cause to get that upset about.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen SD in action. Would love to see that vid.
