3 illegal drugs in her system which together make more endurance and stamina.
Now she’s saying her grandfathers meds contaminated whatever she takes.
What a mockery

Only one is illegal.

Nice to see the Russian authorities trying out legal drugs on their athletes

Let’s not be naive. If it’s legal, every country is exploiting the benefits.

True. But they know the banned ones and stay away from them.

This. Johnny and Tara were taking that as high level figure skaters at age of 11 or 12, they started drug testing and knew there were protocols and aware of what they can and can’t put in the body. When they were sick or even with a mild cold, their mother had to call a hot line to check what medications they were allowed to take, etc.

You mean it’s not super easy to accidentally walk ass-backwards into ingesting a banned drug?? A drug whose benefits are in-line with the legal drugs she’s taking?? I feel shock.

I meant It’s super easy for the team doctor (with a shady past of anti-doping violations) to give the 15yo skater all sorts of legal and illegal drugs for her endurance, recovery or whatever. Of course her coaches knew too.

I mean, she's f-ing 15. She has youth and a freaking ton of natural energy. And yet, they wanted to eek out what, an hour more of practice per day?
At the expense of possibly damaging her heart?

Seriously, this is the stuff of nightmares.

It isn't just to practice longer, it's so they have more stamina at the end of their long program, which is huge advantage in the scoring system. Remember, in the 2018 olympics, the difference between the gold and silver was that the gold medalist put most of her triples in the second half of her long program, which earns you extra points. The gold medalist had the same coach as Kamila.

And at last year's World, the gold medal winner (same Russian coach) was so out of breath after her short program and there was a rumor that she was sick and could barely stay awake. Then during the long program, she was flawless and looked as if she had enough stamina for a redo if necessary.

I have no doubt all the russians are being given PEDs, but I'm not sure they'd risk it in the middle of an actual competition like Worlds where testing is a given. Most likely the "doctor" F-ed up with the dosing too close to Russian nationals and that was why Kamila still had some in her system.

But it's clear now that the whole testing system is a farce and not good enough. Everyone's railing about Kamila being allowed to compete but does anyone really believe that the other two russian skaters are "clean"? It's all a joke.

It was at last years Russian Nationals that Anna Shcherbakova was very sick after the short program and managed to win the long program against an insanely deep field of Russian ladies. Clearly they weren’t too worried about getting caught at Russian Nationals.

I had REALLY hoped that Kamila wasn’t aware of what was in her box of vitamins or whatever Eteri hands her and there would be serious international scrutiny of Sambo-70, Eteri’s training camp. However, the fact that she is going with the grandfather medicine excuse means she and her family are going to take the fall.

This. Ugh.

And yeah, even at 15 you know that "taking Grandpa's medicine" has consequences.

And maybe the doctor messed up the dosage or when to stop giving her Trimetazidine before the December 25 drug testing? So the team doctor and coaches are pushing narrative it was an accidental ingestion of Kamila’s grandfather medication. They want the blame on Kamilla/her family and not on the skating club. They don’t need Kamila after the Olympics- there are plenty of young teenage girls waiting for next opportunity.

Whoa- I had no idea she had moved on from ilia to David Pelletier!

I tell ya, once you’ve had an Olympic champion, no one else will do.

I just found this out a couple weeks ago. I watched the first episode of that peacock docuseries about the big mess in SLC (that I think Tara executive produced). I got interested in what had happened to all of them.

Jamie cheated on David with her partner, a hockey player, on a Canadian reality show. She is now married to the hockey player. No idea how David and Katia met or why she and Ilia broke up. So, so interesting

Apparently Jamie and her husband are separated now, and she's gone off the right wing deep end.

Katia and David have been super private about their marriage. With multiple kids from other partners involved, it probably makes sense to keep a low profile.

Jamie Sale always struck me as somewhat unbalanced.

In my eyes, there has never been another pair skater as good as Katia. Elena Berezhnaya came close but the difference is that Anton held equal attention in that couple whereas Sergei was a solid stem to Katia's flower.

I just looked at Salé's Twitter, and she's all in on the crazy. Wow. Also looked up current photos of Pelletier, and he's adorable. Love that he's with EG.

Yeah I wish Kamila’s family wasnt going along with this narrative- lots of holes poked on the story already.

well, the family is basically being told what to say by the Kremlin. This is how Russia works and we all know it. She knows full well she didn't take grandpa's pills - they are ALL lying.

But, I am so sad that she alone is going to take the fall when this was a team effort.

Be sad for the Japanese skaters, who are being denied the placements and moments they deserve because of Russian drugging.

Weir did not even start skating until age 12.

Blame the IOC for letting the farce of the ROC compete in the first place

Like what is the proper response now? Are they going to ban ALL Russians now, unless they go the route of competing for a different country with dual citizenship? I’m just wondering how this is going to turn out now? In the Olympics and other international competitions.

Seriously Russia, I guess you can hold your own competition and dope up your athletes as much as you want now.
