just done for the season. I was really beginning to get hooked... it just seemed like a real slow burn....


What spin-off we know that one person from TWD will interact with someone from FTWD at some point... is there something else other than Passages

I keep seeing this criticism and I think it's incredibly short-sighted. Rick and his group don't need all of the Saviors dead, they just need Negan dead; ideally the surviving Saviors would then agree to peace with the other communities and the war could end there. They don't want to expend the resources killing all of them, they don't want the risk to their own communities of an on-going enemy after they kill Negan, and they just don't want to kill people needlessly. Giving Negan's lieutenants an out wasn't about expecting them to surrender at the beginning, there's too much risk to them then that Negan will win and they will all be punished/killed for it. It was sending the message that once Negan is dead, the rest of them can surrender and come to a peace agreement with the rest of the communities so that no more people have to die.

As much as they're being cagey about how the cross-over will happen, it will be during FTWD season 4 unless for some bizarre reason the ratings for the first half of season 8 of TWD sink below those for the past season of FTWD. Given the extent of the time disconnect between the two series, most likely it will be someone we've met on TWD interacting with FTWD folks before we met them on TWD. For geographic reasons, it will probably be one or more of Abraham/Rosita/Eugene.

"Bad guy" includes the lieutenants. Rick doesn't need all those power hungry "Negans" around. Negan let Rick live and look how that turned out.

Negan took your approach letting Rick live, bet he regrets it now. "Bad guy" includes the lieutenants. Rick doesn't need all those power hungry "Negans" around.

I don't necessarily agree that his lieutenants are power-hungry "Negans." If they were that power-hungry, I'm not so sure they would have fallen in with Negan in the first place because they would have chaffed at how heavily he keeps them under his thumb and under constant threat of punishment if they displease him. I suspect Negans lieutenants are more likely to be fairly weak on their own, and looking for strong leadership that will protect them and allow them to stay comfortable. If Rick defeats Negan and appears to be the new strong leader, they might come around really fast.

Yes, but Negan was standing - basically on a stage - with no protection. Someone should have just shot Negan dead right then and there. I think THAT's the biggest criticism everyone has. It's not about shooting all the Saviors dead but about shooting Negan when he's basically standing unprotected in front of hundreds of enemies (who are protected behind those metal things).

It's crazy, but I get it for the story-line. I'm really curious how Rick et. al. will rise up, but still have Negan in the series. As much as I hate him, I LOVE him being on the show. He does such a great job and it would really hurt the show if he was killed off. So, that being said, I get why the writers didn't have Rick just shoot Negan right then, but for "real life" type situations, he should have just shot him dead right there.

Rick took a shot at him while he was standing on the stage unprotected but missed. Why do you assume the result would have been the same if he'd taken the shot two minutes earlier?
