| anyone watch last night's episode? |
| I watched half heartedly. I think the show jumped the shark with killing off Carl, who was the main character! |
|
I thought last night was great. Finally moving past Carl's demise.
Lots of shit stirring last night (Simon! and Maggie with the walker-gram) Teeing up the war. And foreshadowing Rick and Jadis butting heads in the future (though I won't say what predictions are out and about that now in case they are spoilers). The grotesque factor was off the charts. First time I actually turned away from the gore. Zombie ground chuck! |
Um, no. |
Rick (Carl's dad) is the main character. And also, where is Darryl? No episode without Darryl is worth the time. Only Darryl makes my uterus flip flop. He's so manly. |
| I think the problem is there's no slow burning romance going on. Rick and Michonne are a done deal, and there's no simmer going on with Daryl and anyone (Carol I hope). We are enduring this long slog of trying to get to the end of this conflict with the Saviors. It's just taking too long and we are not getting any satisfaction. Too many speeches. Last night was a better episode, had a lot of action. |

Anyone catch last night's episode? The very ending was awesome. I feel like the show got it's groove back (FINALLY) and we're back to the way it used to be.
What do you think of the new character? Very odd - but love what she bargained with. I was losing interest since the second part of season 8 started (after Carl dying) but this last episode hooked me right back in. |
| I was very disheartened when they killed off Carl. I have been a hard-core, long-term WTD fan so it will take more than that to get me to stop watching the show, but I am not as invested as it was before they killed off Carl. And how the heck did Rick not hit Negan with a bullet when he was shooting with a semi automatic rifle at him? |
| I agree the last two episodes have been better. Although the Rick-Negan “Fugitive” act is getting old. |
| Anyone want to discuss this week's episode? I'm feeling bad for Dwight. |
I am feeling bad for him too. I didn't really see that coming. I wish Eugene would die. He just annoys the absolute hell out of me. He is the worst. |

Anyone want to discuss the finale? Despite being bored/frustrated with most of the season, I thought this was one of the better finales they've had the past several seasons. It was tight storytelling, no drawn out drama just to extend it (keeping to to one hour rather than two was such a good call), they tied up/together story lines in effective ways, and left us with just enough intrigued for next season without resorting to a big cliffhanger.
Maggie turning on Rick and Michonne at the end surprised me, as did Jesus joining in (Daryl not so much). It'll be interesting to see how that plays out, especially since it'll be new material rather than the writers being tied to the comic book. I guess they need a way to avoid overtaking the comic book timeline since they said they would never do that, I'm hopeful that means Season 9 will be better if they bring in some real storytelling rather than just dragging out the material they already have as much as possible. |
Who? |

| I am SO glad the negan war is over. it was extremely overdue. I didn't like the Maggie twist, because I don't want her to suddenly become the villain and be killed off. Jesus joining them didn't make any sense as he's been preaching peace the entire time, so I think there will be more to the story there. I hope they give us a few episodes of rebuilding without jumping into another fight. |
