I am annoyed with my friend who gave birth this weekend. We are always expected to go the extra mile for her (and then some). We only got a text via hubby that baby was born then radio silence. We don’t even have a name. Idk why but this is irritating me so much. Don’t even have a place to send flowers!

Be patient. Child birth can bring forth a lot of emotion, challenge, medical issues that some people never, ever really discuss, especially if they don't know that others can truly relate to the experience. She could be exhausted, dealing with complications around recovery, or just taking in the reality of the change. Be supportive, her hormones will fluctuate, don't pull away. I had a really tough time and i am so thankful for friends that understood.

I am trying to be patient, there’s a bit history as she’s been my friend for 27 years. I’ll spare everyone the boring details. She also had placenta previa so Im extremely paranoid as with her last pregnancy she wanted us with her all the time as her babies were in the nicu. Like I told a friend I am annoyed and paranoid. I too am a parent so I’ve tried to really rationalize this one out.

Confession: there was a job I wanted to apply for but didn’t because the supervisor was god awful. The job was given to someone who isn’t doing a great job and i’d Be stellar. I just don’t think he knew what it took to do this job. The awful supervisor ended up leaving so I am extra bitter.

I did this about 15 years ago and while my kids thought I was crazy my husband was very supportive. I wasn't doing it because of hiring ageism I just didn't like what I saw in the mirror. And as husbands say, a happy wife makes for a happy life. My MIL loved my more rested look so she had a little work done and was very happy. You might be surprised about people in your circle as many people get something done but don't talk about it.

I had work done on my face and the people I told were all extremely supportive and I feel a ton better after. Cosmetic surgery is also not prevalent in my circle. Now is the time when you’re out of work and can take the time to recover properly.

Something could be horribly wrong and she's trying to process it or dying. Who knows?

Give her a call. Tell her you're worried.

I am replying to the thread title but my response is political:

Need to get off my chest that I used to be middle of the road all the way around and at one point was a Republican.

But I do not even think I can be friends with Trump supporters anymore. I only have two who are local but was surprised to learn how many of my college friends are supporters.

Am thinking of skipping my 25th college reunion because I do not want to be around a bunch of Trumpsters.
