I want to have a lower face lift without my husband and teenagers knowing. I'm 49, recently laid off, and ageism in hiring is real. I have my own $$ and could easily afford it. But no one in our circle gets plastic surgery and I know my family would think I'm being vain and superficial.
I did this about 15 years ago and while my kids thought I was crazy my husband was very supportive. I wasn't doing it because of hiring ageism I just didn't like what I saw in the mirror. I had inherited my Dad's fat bags under my eyes and his turkey neck (but I did adore my Dad!). The work I had done made me look rested and not stretched and I felt great about the results. And as husbands say, a happy wife makes for a happy life. My MIL loved my more rested look so she had a little work done and was very happy. You might be surprised about people in your circle as many people get something done but don't talk about it.
I had work done on my face and the people I told were all extremely supportive and I feel a ton better after. Cosmetic surgery is also not prevalent in my circle. Now is the time when you’re out of work and can take the time to recover properly.
