I don't see it. I see blonde, which many Americans think is the same as beautiful. |

It's ridiculous. Clearly they were in a mutually abusive relationship. But I don't think he'll win. She didn't libel him, sounds like she told the truth about his behavior.
Whether she told the truth about her OWN behavior is another question. He already lost this case in England so I don't see why he thinks he'll win here. I feel he's using the courts to further torment her and put on a show of innocence. Which he is not. Neither of them are. |
I have trouble believing that Hollywood actors don't use things like lasers, fillers, botox, etc that lead to bruising. I'm a regular person and use color correction makeup when my injector is a bit too heavy handed. It proves nothing. |
Looks like the makeup she claimed to use was not on the market until a year after her divorce. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/johnny-depp-vs-amber-heard-215850776.html |

I was just at a party and people started talking about the trial.
Everyone was sympathetic to Johnny and thought Amber was lying. Men and women alike. |
I agree with them but it is a little strange how easily we normalize drug and alcohol addiction and put it at such a lower level to even verbal abuse. That’s not what the trial is about though. |
Use the expand quote option PP… |

I finally watched some clips of the trial. I'm no "body language expert" but every time the camera pans to Heard, she looks like a cartoon villain.
Is she really that bad an actress? |
I think he feels that he lost his career because of her and she is still working although she also abused him and might have actually been the instigator/aggressor. I think his goal is for her to also lose her career. Amber knew that even if she didn’t him in that article the assumption would that she was talking about him. They were just a toxic combination…when your kids have major issues with the person you are with it should always give you pause. |
To me, It shows how we are all socialized to be more sympathetic to protecting men’s feelings and dignity than women’s. They both behaved badly but she is being blamed for everything in the toxic relationship. He was twice her age when they met, consumed mind boggling amounts of alcohol and drugs for decades, and is not taking any responsibility for his part in the mess. He had other ways of redressing his sense of being wronged than dragging them both through a public trial. I am arguing with my teenage daughter trying to get her to see how unfair it is to blame everything on Amber. DD and her friends think Amber is to blame for ruining his illustrious career while I believe he did that in his own. Amber’s career and reputation has been savaged as well. DD tells me that the internet is siding with Johnny. The world wants a villain (preferably female), while shared culpability, pesky details and nuance just get get in the way of one sided story telling. |
I disagree. We are only now hearing Depp’s side of things while Amber’s take has been out there for over 5 years. This is the first time people really got the opportunity to compare what went on in that relationship from both Amber and Jonny’s perspective. |
We’ll speak for yourself. I never paid any attention to their marriage or divorce until this def action trial. My Dad certainly had not either. I doubt many people did. It just seemed like a bad idea to marry someone half your age. I had nothing against Johnny but did not care for his acting as the drunken sailor with exaggerated effeminate mannerisms just seemed too one dimensional. I can’t think of any of his movies where he wowed me as an actor. Ditto for Amber. I wish them both well but wish they would settle this public trial quietly. Many teens and young people are following it. I don’t think they should be getting the messaging to blame women for toxic marriages but give a complete pass to men marrying young women half their age, truly excessive drug and alcohol use, gas lighting and minimizing damage to female partners while highlighting the damage to male partners. There are no winners here and both are to blame. |

I think public opinion will shift later in the trial — remember we’ve only started hearing Depp’s case so far. I’m sure when Heard makes her case, people will be more sympathetic to her. I agree with you that they’re both at fault for sure. What a mess. |

Ireland Baldwin came out against Amber Heard.
I’m sure there are more young people in Hollywood who think Amber is a crazy, toxic woman on a mission. |
