Everything. How can we believe in a justice system that denies us the right to abortion? Tl out rights? That vilifies a woman and is a misogynist? He used the old, she is a crazy, hysterical woman defense and it worked in 2022!
All I got from this is that men can still and do still get away with abusing women, calling us crazy, hysterical, talk about the yellow wallpaper. The fact that this trial even happened is an appalling lack of justice system. Notice that a judge in England did not put up with his BS?
This was a witch trial, no doubt about it. I would like to have a justice system that is not a witch trial
I agree but what specific aspects can be changes that are realistic ?
For me:
Requiring domestic violence cases decided by jury to have at least half the jurors be female
Requiring jurors to stay awake and provide notes at the end of each day to show they grasped basic content
Restrictions on Character assassinations of women in rape and domestic violence cases
Cases involving POC requiring jury to have at least half POC
Probably many more and will need to think about it but those modest reforms could help quite a lot.
I honestly don't think this is a necessity. Women are known to be more critical of other women. Men tend to feel bad and might be more reticent to give a verdict against females for fear of being labeled sexist. I think that's why AH's team was okay with that gender imbalance in the jury box. Her team might also be worried about women jurors succumbing to JD's charms.
It is common sense that overall, one would expect women to have more empathy towards victims of rape and domestic violence and there are studies to that effect. Further jury selection should rule out anyone of either gender who buys into rape myths.
Jury Selection in Adult Victim Sexual Assault (NIH study)
Jurors’ Beliefs in Rape Myths
Less favorable attitudes toward rape victims in general were significantly associated with:
• Being male
• Lower income
• Political conservatism
Gender Role Stereotypes
Hostility toward women, subscribing to other oppressive belief systems, and being male are all strongly correlated to rape myth acceptance.
(Gadalla, forthcoming, 2010)
Gender is correlated with acceptance of rape myths. Men are more likely to be accepting of rape myths.

ONS, 2020B) One study of 96 cases of domestic abuse recorded by the police found that men are significantly more likely to be repeat perpetrators and significantly more likely than women to use physical violence, threats, and harassment.
Also male and female Domestic violence have different overall patterns although both are terrible.

There are important differences between male violence against women and female violence against men, namely the amount, severity and impact. Women experience higher rates of repeated victimisation and are much more likely to be seriously hurt (Walby & Towers, 2017; Walby & Allen, 2004) or killed than male victims of domestic abuse (ONS, 2020A; ONS, 2020B).
Further to that, women are more likely to experience higher levels of fear and are more likely to be subjected to coercive and controlling behaviours (Dobash & Dobash, 2004; Hester, 2013; Myhill, 2015; Myhill, 2017).
