I am now furious after watching the interview. He must’ve consulted with someone to ensure he used all the buzz words to describe his daughters experience.
Well, Mr. Wilson I’ll like to enroll my child in Wilson too, should I send my husband to do my dirty work? What a disgrace he is as the leader of our school system. |
All of this. As the saying goes, I might have been born at night, but not last night. |
This! If the mental health services at Dunbar aren't good enough, maybe that's something he should acknowledge and address through policy changes. |
Absolutely agree. A bunch of excuses. He did not take responsibility for his actions. He needs to go. |
I’m 50 years old and am ashamed to say I’ve never heard that saying before. I love it!

| I JUST WATCHED THE CLIP OF THE INTERVIEW. FU$%k HIM! I AM LIVID. I AM ALMOST IN TEARS I AM SO UPSET. MY DC IS AT AN EOTP SCHOOL WITH A BUNCH OF RUFFIANS. THE TEACHERS ARE FANTASTIC--THE KIDS ARE INCORRIGIBLE. DC HAS DEMONSTRATED BEHAVIOURS THAT NEVER BEFORE WERE PRESENT. WE HAVE BEEN AFRAID THAT DC IS GOING TO HURT HERSELF. SHE IS DESPONDENT AND HATES HER SCHOOL., IT IS AN IMMENSE STRUGGLE TO HELP DC AND WE ARE JUST HOLDING OUR BREATH WAITING FOR THE END OF THE YEAR TO COME SO WE CAN MOVE DC INTO HOPEFULLY A CHEAP PRIVATE-IF WE CAN GET IN AND IF WE CAN GET FINANCIAL AID. OH YEAH, AND WE ARE TRYING TO LOTTERY INTO MURCH, HEARST, OR LAFAYETTE---PROB WONT HAPPEN. AND THIS FUC&%ING IDIOT JUST BREAKS HIS OWN G---D RULES!!!! I DONT FEEL SORRY FOR HIM. HE NEEDS TO GO. |

I watched his interview and also Martin Austermule's report this evening on NPR and now i am furious. He took no responsibility. He blamed his superiors in his interview with Austermule by saying that he told them his kid was having issues and they emphatically told him that he should step away and they would handle it. The implication was clear - that this is mostly Jenny Niles fault and not his own. He also gave some mumbo jumbo about how he works so much that he let his wife handle it and that they both believe that daughter should have some say and daughter firmly believed that Wilson would be the right school for her. How does the daughter even know anything about Wilson? What BS! Did they even attempt to address the issues at Duke Ellington? Did they have a meeting with administration? He is the Chancellor after all. I'm sure after a parent meeting with him, the school would be bending over backwards trying to improve his kid's experience. Did she go visit Dunbar to check it out? Did she try a shadow day there. Clearly not. Sounds like he and his wife decided it had to be Wilson and asked Jenny Niles to make it happen. They could have asked the daughter to stick it out for a bit longer. Of course, it can be rough at the beginning. He still does not get that he did anything wrong and also is now completely overplaying the pity card. He has no credibility left and needs to resign. |

| He’s got to go. Is there a petition making the rounds that someone can link? |
Not to take this off topic because I don’t want to do that, but if you are just trying to get out of your school sand across the park, try for eaton. I realize it doesn’t get you the deal feed, but it takes some kids at every compulsory grade, whereas the others take none or just one or two. |
+1. And Hardy is a good school despite the hype. Our child is having a great 6th grade year there. |
I’m sorry your daughter is having such a rough year. |
Thank you. I will add this to the list. I had no idea. I appreciate the note. |
Also, Shepherd sometimes has a few spots in upper grades. I realize it's still EOTP, but there are some good kids there, and it feeds to Deal. I'm so sorry about your daughter's current situation, and I wish her (and you) the best. |
