Letter from Cancellor re moving schools - opps - I got caught moving my kid?

Anonymous
what schools was/is his kid in?

His child needs t go back to the IB school and lottery out like the rest of us. Or go private, we're paying a large enough salary to his corrupt rear end.

He earns $280k plus a $14k signing bonus. He can afford to live IB for any school he likes. If his child has special needs, there are processes to get the kid into the right program and I assume that they would be done very efficiently for the Chancellor's son.

There's really no excuse for this.

Seriously. The fact that he is dumb enough to do this makes me question his intelligence!

Mark Seagraves of NBC4 reporting that Mayor asked DME Jennie Niles to resign today over this.

I asked in another thread and it sounds like one of his kids is at Wilson, but not sure where the rest are.

The tone of his letter suggests he TRIED to do it the right way but was "given bad information." Which is even worse-- his staff didn't actually know or didn't care what the correct method was.

Why throw the DME under the bus? That seems v. odd.

The DME supervises the Chancellor. If he was asking for a special placement, it likely would have gone to her for review since he shouldn't have been able to approve his own child's.

Let’s not give this jerk reasons why he should be forgiven. Buck stops with him. He was fully aware of the situation where Kaya gave favors to friends in the form of enrollments in some of DC’s best public schools.

He. Wrote. The. New. Policy. on special placements.

Which probably didn't include the scenario of how to handle a request from the chancellor.
