I do this. It's not fun (I don't have insomnia) but this is the job and schedule that work best right now, so I do it. |
I guess it depends on your situation. For people with a long commute it can make a substantial difference with traffic. For people with school aged kids it can be the difference in being able to get them off the bus after school. |
It’s almost like it’s hard to find after school care in March or something nice
|
I wake up at 4:45 to leave by 5:00 and be at work at 5:30. I leave work at 2. On days when I have a later meeting, I get approval to start later and end later. I usually don’t get time to eat lunch because my day is fairly packed from 9-2. I just wanted to be around my kids in the after school hours. From 2020-2024 I got used to being around them more and being around for the after school debrief, driving them around for activities or taking the younger ones to the park, helping with homework, etc. I truly love it and didn’t want to give it up. |
Article 7, Section 14 https://www.secunion.org/article-7-work-schedules |
lol. So we’re citing the CBA now for agency policy?? There’s another provision in there I’d like to enforce, then, if the CBA suddenly is authoritative! Or are we just picking the provisions that we like or happen to agree with? |
So the CBA is just someone’s intuition or an hr drinking buddy? |
Apparently. |
| Does the office look a touch emptier in the last week or two? Everywhere - elevators, garage etc. Are people on really staggered schedules or are they simply not showing up whether using leave or telework? The VERA ppl left over a month ago so it can’t be that bc then it looked more crowded. |
There are many “exceptions” to the RTO policy. |
Such as? I know there are reasonable accommodations but I assumed doctor sign off. Is everyone running to the drs for sign off due to stress or something? |
I assume you read the policy. I count at least 5 exceptions. |
| There is talk about DRP 3.0 ... |
For a few months til end of September? Not very enticing unless you were already planning to leave. |
When was 2.0? |
