What would you do with this info? And if you knew it, would you feel it was reliable? I hope there won't be RIFs but I'm planning as if there will be. I don't think there's any information that would change that.
I have an exploding offer from the private sector. I have to decide by next Friday, May 23. I want to stay. Worst case scenario is if I decide to say and then end up getting RIFed. It's extremely hard to get a good job.
You’re kind of an idiot for even considering staying. I mean c’mon.
+1. I wouldn't stay either to be honest. I don't think there will be RIFs because I think a lot of people are going to leave on their own but I don't think the working environment is going to get better, it may even get worse.
How could it possibly get worse?? It’s pretty rock bottom.
PP here and increased workload plus potentially less flexibility (i.e. DHS mandatory 9-5). They are already expanding ding core hours.
Where did you hear anything about expanding core hours?
To be fair this is happening in my unit rather than a broader thing and for attorneys only (not accountants). Its not dramatic but they're saying they need people to leave no earlier than 3.
it’s hard to really complain about that …
I guess it depends on your situation. For people with a long commute it can make a substantial difference with traffic. For people with school aged kids it can be the difference in being able to get them off the bus after school.
