I have an exploding offer from the private sector.  I have to decide by next Friday, May 23.

+1.  I wouldn't stay either to be honest.  I don't think there will be RIFs because I think a lot of people are going to leave on their own but I don't think the working environment is going to get better, it may even get worse.[/quote]

To be fair this is happening in my unit rather than a broader thing and for attorneys only (not accountants).  Its not dramatic but they're saying they need people to leave no earlier than 3.[/quote]

I guess it depends on your situation.  For people with a long commute it can make a substantial difference with traffic.  For people with school aged kids it can be the difference in being able to get them off the bus after school.[/quote]
