+1 If anything’s “morally dubious” it’s Bob Good and Matt Rosendale (not familiar with the other two)

The Alabama hospital at the center of the ivf ruling is stopping lab services at the end of this year.

It says there is a lack of clarity in the recent legislation.

The out cry is confusing. This is what Trump said he would do, he got the votes, he gets roe overturned...what is the problem? This is what Alabama wanted

That's what I don't understand either. It's almost like conservative women don't understand what they are voting on.

That's because most people are ignorant and/or vote/decide things with their "feelings" rather than logic. They're now witnessing the consequences of their decisions.

No. They know what they are voting for. They are “Good Christians” and want to save babies from sluts and whores.

And they assume their own daughters will never have a medical problem getting pregnant if she wants to. Or, won't have a fetus who might kill her and leave her other children motherless.

Nope. Firmly pro choice and firm Republican here. I will pay for my own DD’s needs whatever those may be. Athiest. There are tons of us.

Lucky for you, the democrats will win and your and my daughters will actually have choice.

Where do you live, though? I appreciate you being pro- choice, but you may not always be able to pay to get your daughter’s needed health care. It may not be an option anywhere in the US.

Not really if you think it’s acceptable for Rs to ban abortion.

They are really good Christian’s but if they happen to be raped and get pregnant, it’s Gods will and they will suffer and carry that Fetus for 9 months and relive the rape over and over again but they find that child a good home. Oh please!

But the people with money and resources will go out of state and take care of it. Only the poor will suffer the consequences.

This is just show how narrowminded liberals are. You are assuming all Republicans are christian. We are not. There are many other religions. We are muslims for example, and we do get raped and get pregnant.

You most likely have to be close to the center during the monitoring before egg retrieval, the actual egg retrieval and the embryo transfer (usually day 5 after egg retrieval). I did PGD-IVF 5 times and ended up with 2 babies in the 2000s when it wasn't very common (only IVF was common). I had to assemble a team in Maryland, Illinois and DC and it involved medical overnight courier for the PGD part, or I could have done it all in Illinois but I lived in the DMV. It was super expensive.

In 2024 you can get both PGD for single cell mutation and IVF done at most large fertility clinics (like Shady Grove). But the cost, plus the drugs, are astronomical.

I feel sorry for the women of Alabama who are losing precious time. Every month that goes by mean you have less viable eggs. Their window is closing. This should be no one’s business but their own. The government should stay out of this. But, they asked for it and now they got it an complaining. You can’t have it both ways.

I know it's hard to believe but there are people in Alabama who don't vote MAGA. Should those people suffer?

There's currently a special election for a state house where the Democrat is running on REPEALING no-exceptions abortion ban. And she may win because people are sick and tired of ChristoFascists.

What prevent them to keep their embrios in Baltimore? Or to move to Chicago?

Muslims make up 1% of the American population. So no, there are not “many” other religions making up the Republican Party.

Transport of frozen embryos from one clinic to another is not as simple as throwing them in your car and driving away.
Also, if I remember correctly, there were concerns that the laws may be interpreted such that transport of the embryos could be seen as illegal (risk of embryo loss/damage, crossing state lines, etc).

Then why have politicians who claim to be pro life passed legislation that leaves some pregnant women unable to obtain life saving medical care until the last possible moment, when their death is imminent?

It is a very minority view that women that have an abortion are evil murderers. This position will lose badly on election day. But you never need to have an abortion and that will be respected.
