I hate to say I told you so, but thus begins the end of IVF....
https://publicportal-api.alappeals.gov/courts...84-afa6-063d4595aa1d It really does not make any sense to prize zygotes in-utero and not outside of the uterus. |
I guess this helps for HOV lanes, right? |
IVF was over with Dobbs in some states. Surprised it took this long. Sorry red states. No infertility treatments for you. |
Hope voting to punish *those* women was worth it. |
Hopefully people are realizing it was not worth it. IVF births are 1 to 2 percent if all births in this country. That is a lot of voters and voters that care about them. |
"those" women are generally white and upper middle class to upper class. |
I mean that I hope that the people willing to vote forced birther to make sure that women who seek abortions are adequately punished enjoy the fruits of their votes. Bodily autonomy is bodily autonomy. |
IVF was essentially over in most red states when the SC over turned Roe v Wade. |
I wish I could post this in the thread about Rob Reiner’s documentary on Christian Nationalism but it got locked. This is language in a real court ruling in America.

Fascism necessarily involves establishing a state religion, which is why I find the trolls posting their “sudden” support for Trump based on the events in the Middle East to be silly beyond belief. Know what you’re supporting. If someone thinks Biden is guilty of “genocide,” Trump isn’t going to be better. If someone thinks that evangelical support for Israel will translate to safety from antisemitism here in the US, they are sorely mistaken. The aims of Christian nationalists are protection of themselves and their rights and that only. Hence their beliefs written all over the laws regarding women’s bodies. Many people, and I’d say almost all Republicans, have internalized misogyny to such an extent that when women’s rights are chipped away (or rather are hacked away like a back alley abortion), they don’t blink. They’re okay with it. Look at the dip wad who started the “I’ve been tipped into voting for Trump.” 1) like fun he has. He’s a Republican. 2) a person can only say something like that if they do not care about women’s lives at all. |
That entire thread and every one like it is started by a Republican worried about the news cycle. The news cycle that has a new story every day about women’s rights and health being threatened in the US. |
Because it’s absolutely unconscionable! To take away women’s rights and then to deny them children? Those self congratulating freak Republicans who will pretend to care about Gaza (newsflash: they don’t) will do anything to avoid the fact that they’re on the side of cruelty. |
Every time you hear some Gen Z kid say they won't vote in this year's election because of the Israel/Palestine war and Biden's position, remind them that is a vote for Trump. And that this is the beginning, and that they will essentially be condoning abortion bans and restrictions/bans on birth control, for them and the Gen Alpha and all the girls after.
They are putting all of this at risk. Are they ready? |
They will either come around or were never going to vote for Biden in the first place. I’m not worried about them. However what will help is to make it clear that abortion/the pill, women rights are on the chopping block EVERYWHERE. Blue states didn’t feel threatened in 2022, but they should now w/ Trump proposing a 16 week ban. Do we really think he’d stop there? A ban, is a ban, is a ban. |
Let’s not make the mistake of pretending this is just Trump. Trump is too stupid to have done any of this (and if he’d have had his choice, the three Supremes would have been Ivanka, Jared and Junior). This is what the GOP stands for, across the country. The party needs to be put down. |
