It’s such an easy problem to solve yet the Rs refuse to act. The only commonality of all these tragedies is guns. |
Clearly not. All the big talkers just lubed up for tyranny instead. That concept is dead. |
Private ownership of firearms is a linchpin and foundation of the Republican form of government you refer to as “democracy,” and the latter would never have existed without the former. |
I agree that that should have been the off ramp but realize, although I disagree with it as an excuse, that we were in the eye of our Pandemic induced psychotic break. Back then we, the middle 75%, agreed that what Nixon had done was beyond the bounds of social acceptance. Nowadays, after two decades of ever increasing anything goes partisanship inspired by post-Watergate cynicism, we need something apolitical. Epstein, being a non-partisan bad actor that we can all agree was way out of bounds, is the only thing that can do that. We all just need to stop assuming things about other people's motivations and trust in the core value. Speak up and demand the files be released. Not because their release might harm the Clintons or Trump but because it's the right thing to do. |
And all the “grandad’s old deer rifle[s]” like the one used in this case will just magically vanish in an instant upon the passage of yet another magical piece of legislation? Of course they will. And “only commonality of these tragedies” is not “guns.” It is people who have decided or been taught that it is OK to commit murder — vile, brutal, political, unjustifiable murder. There have always been guns in the USA. What changed from the days when you could pick up a machine gun at the hardware store or a student could work on a family gun in the school metal shop, but nothing like the present day crimes occurred? |
It’s sad because it will out the Trans community dead in the crosshairs of this administration. I fear they will unleash some kind of new hell on Trans people. |

This article talks about the 'meanings' of the other engravings too. Pretty much what the tiktok gamers were trying to explain. https://www.wired.com/story/charlie-kirk-bullet-memes/ |
What's wrong with that? He was hoping it wasn't someone from Utah but it was. |
His surprise that it could have been someone from Utah portrays serious myopia. |
Guns are machines designed to kill. That’s the only purpose for that equipment. Getting rid of all the guns will take some time but a simple problem to solve. We need to work on the mental health aspect of this problem too. But there’s no commonality here. It’s not about left or right, trans or straight … |
They said nothing when a white supremacist killed African Americans in a supermarket They said nothing when a white supremacist gunned dozens of Hispanics at a Walmart . The list goes on and on.selective empathy isn't a one way thing . |
