| MM first step cut out every person who may ever criticize her. Use people. Throw them away. Repeat. Charm people. Use people. Throw people away. Cut her own family out. Marry. Control. Isolate Harry from his own family. Can people not see what she is and you could look this up in any abnormal psychology book. Most people who encounter this type of person are left reeling because they don’t know what hit them. The Markels and the Royals should get the same therapist to understand what has destroyed both their families. |
Do you even remember the 90s?? She wasn’t even a royal anymore and she was constantly in the American press, on talk shows, on tabloids... she was huge! |
| Sometimes a I wish that I could resign from my family LOL! |
No one was interested in Edward once he abdicated. He basically lived in exile despite being titled. I predicted awhile back that Meghan and Harry will go the way of Andrew and Fergie, but it looks like Edward and Wallis instead. (Also - note that the Queen's cousins were incredibly popular and had undertaken engagements on her behalf before her own children came of age. Now no one cares about them.) |
She was also broke. And none of that lasted. |
| I’m curious about the reaction of their patronages. Anyone interested in a B list actress and a self declared B list royal? Doesn’t really have the same cache. |
| “Keeping up with the Sussexes”: coming to a cable outlet near you! |
I just looked it up and despite *not* being an actress... she was in an episode of Friends! Compare to MM who is actually still married to a Prince, an actual actress, doesn’t need a weight loss plan.. omg. It’s going to be a bonanza if that’s what she wants. |
And the drastic transition turned her into a hot mess. |

No way the Queen will allow them to merch and line their pockets with profits from hocking the Sussex name. No way.

Because the house was crown (ie taxpayer funded) property and the renovations paid for by the taxpayer in one form or another. In Britain there's an understanding of what's expected from royals in exchange for their privileged lifestyle. A lot of American royal watchers don't quite understand this and what it entails. The reason the British press went sour on Meghan Markle had nothing to do with her racial background, despite what some of her supporters want to think, but because she was constantly contravening the expectations of the royals by the British public. She took stances that were too political while the royals are supposed to be extremely neutral. She demanded public displays of privilege while royals are supposed to be much more modest - a perfect example was the furor at Wimbledon last year, when Meghan demanded an entire ring of empty seats around her for security reasons (which no other royal has done) and then threw a fit when someone took her photograph (royals don't do this, they know what comes with the territory). To make it worse, the British have low tolerance for overt displays of hypocrisy, so when Harry and Meghan talked about saving the environment while spending half the year flying around in private jets, they were openly mocked in the presses for this. Then when Meghan and Harry complained about the press being unfair to them, people were left scratching their heads. Working royals are supposed to represent the British state, they are supposed to be symbols of the British state at all the mundane functions they go to. Opening hospitals, opening sports events, at diplomatic events. A lot of it is tedious but that's their job. Then you have the actual world of manners and deference and rules surrounding the monarchy itself, which demanded that Meghan would always have to play second fiddle to Kate and she apparently did / said some things that upset this order. Meghan was clearly not happy in this role and the longer it went on, the unhappier she was. As for Harry, I'm not quite sure what his deal is. He didn't seem unhappy to me before he met Meghan, he seemed very happy chasing after the ditsy blond aristocratic girls. But then again perhaps he was keeping an inner unhappiness with his world deep inside. I have given both of them the benefit of doubt. Their recent announcement was, if the British papers, including the very respectable, non-gossiping papers, are anything to go by, a major surprise to the Palace and the Queen, and that does not forebode well for their relationship with the rest of the royal family in the future. They seem determined to burn bridges, and who knows why. But the die is cast. They will have a future firmly away from the royal family (the Queen and Charles will make sure of this because the British will not tolerate someone living off royal largess in exchange for nothing, it's not spite but the simple realities of royal politics). It is probably a good thing for Archie and any future children. So I wish them best of luck. |
Speculation that MM visited the National Theatre yesterday to relinquish her patronage. The serious actors thought her appointment was a joke, anyway. |
| Why doesnt harry go back into the royal air force? They yearn for a normal life so he can go get a job, serve his country, and live amongst the commoners. He can fly in his mother in law whenever MM wants company (although was she ever really close with her mom?). They can make minimal appearances with the other Royals as needed. |
| There are a lot of people on this thread with mental health issues. |
| Anyone else thinks this read like a "royal" temper tantrum? Quit over Instagram as opposed to talk like normal adult people do? |
