You are projecting, MAGA trash!!

And, phew! Finally! It took 36 pages for you to realize that we are outraged by Trump’s vindictiveness, not the immigrants. Not the brightest bunch, are you?

Riiiiight. If the idea of sending these immigrants to sanctuary cities had come from the Democrats, you’d be falling all over yourselves to show your approval. The only reason you’re outraged (as usual) is because your favorite person to hate suggested it. Get real. We see straight through your faux outrage.

Why do you think Trump wants to send them?

Because there’s no more room at the border and because Democrats have made it clear they will happily take them. Win-win. Right?

This is exactly it. The detention centers are full - and apparently dangerous, based on what we've read, correct? So it's best to process them quickly and get them settled somewhere.

California is the best option, as it's large enough to absorb more people. Add to that its liberal outlook, and it is indeed a win-win.

The "flyover states," as they're called on these threads, aren't as hospitable. Isn't that the thinking? That's Trump country, right? So why would they be sent there? Granted there's probably more space for them there, but since they're not as "urban" as the coasts, there are not enough social programs to assist them.

But this has ALWAYS been the case. People go where there are jobs, a strong tax base, and social welfare programs.

Do you know anything about immigrants? The Midwest is where many find jobs. I bet the farmers are getting buses ready for a pick up.

illegally
under the radar
with no benefits

This is what happened with the Mexican Revolution. slave labor

So those jobs are there, but they're not "friendly." The coastal cities will provide them with schooling, healthcare, and housing.

Which is it? Do you want free slave labor or would you prefer for them to enter areas that are welcoming?

The Rs want immigrants in the MidWest for cheap labor.
The Ds want immigrants in sanctuary cities to protect them.

And that is why we don’t have stricter border security.

They are asking for donations.

The statement said needed items included utensils, napkins, paper plates, sanitary napkins, shampoo, clothing, towels, blankets, canned food, bottled water, foam padding for bedding and stuffed toys.

interesting . . .

The Border Patrol announced Thursday it would release migrants in southern New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas, pending their future court hearings Immigration and Customs "capacity issues."

Happy to donate to support those communities.

Write those checks and start sending supplies! Be sure to document everything on social media, too.

I dunno. My FIL who lives outside ElPaso just told my DH that he is going to buy a gun. He was badly beaten and robbed by two illegals a few months ago and turned the other cheek. Now he is preparing.

Your FIL's preparation reveals the underlying motivation of Trump's proposal. If you view all illegal immigrants as potential criminals, then dropping them off at Pelosi's doorstep is meant to punish her.

This man was assaulted. I hardly think YOU'D be as compassionate after being beaten and robbed.

Yes, that’d why nobody (including the GOP) is rushing to completely shut down immigration. I don’t either side wants huge numbers but some amount is beneficial for the economy.

Meh. Just a misdemeanor. Less of a criminal than many on Trump’s campaign team.

I expect to see lots of people in NM putting their homes on the market.

Excellent. I would expect it to be Republicans to leave. Turn NM solidly blue.

Totally agree! You guys can finance all of the immigrants’ needs, including hospital care, shelter, and schools. Good on you!

Yes , good on me! And I will feel confident when it’s time to meet my maker that I lived a good life by His principles and that my actions left the world a better place.

lol

Now we see the hypocrisy of cons who cry about religious freedom under attack and then thumb their noses at the religious beliefs of others when they contradict their own.

I was never in favor of embracing anyone entering illegally. I say this as someone who's first-gen with naturalized parents. Unfortunately, criminals are mixed in with those who have led a good life.

You get what you get.

I don't have compassion for criminals. But if cities are welcoming, they should be prepared for the good and the bad.

It’s irrelevant. The sanctuary cities seem to think it will be. Even if Trump thinks it is, show him he’s wrong.

Surely, the best thing for these illegals and refugees is to encourage them to live in areas where they are welcome such as in sanctuary cities. I don't understand the consternation of liberals and those in blue states who have advocated supporting these people.

Unless of course the it is a case of welcoming refugees and other illegals for humanitarian reasons but not in my backyard!

Yep, you nailed it. Of course they’re welcome here, and anyone who disagrees is a “racist”. Wait, they’re actually coming??? NIMBY!!!
Typical.

This thread should be marked as one of the all-time greatest in this forum. Wild.

No kidding. We've got actual teachers here spewing lies. God knows how many students over the years!

DP. What are the "actual lies" in the PP's post? Please elucidate.

The crappy teacher lied about sanctuary cities. If you know what a sanctuary city us, then I shouldn't have had to elucidate that for you. If you don't know what a sanctuary city is, look it up. Someone has posted the Wikipedia entry upthread for you.

The teacher was absolutely telling the truth about what MoCo does for illegal immigrants - provides them support via schools, healthcare, etc. - when actual citizens aren't able to get the same services. Where's the lie? Do you live in MoCo? If not, then perhaps you need to take a little field trip and see for yourself.

Wrong. Look up the eligibility requirements for the MoCo Maternity Partnership program. It wasn't made for illegal immigrants, it was made for low income residents of the county. Actual citizens are able to get the same services, provided they meet the eligibility requirements. Illegal immigrants don't get eligibility by virtue of being illegal immigrants.

As for living in MoCo, I don't anymore, but I used to, enjoyed it, and would be happy to move back.

Are you kidding? Do you actually think Montgomery a county is going to put “a program for undocumented pregnant women” on their website?!?

The women in that program are 100% undocumented immigrants. There are 0 legal citizens in that program. Full stop.

Please, tell one of your low income Montgomery County legal citizens who meet the website requirements to go apply for the program. Let me know what happens. Actually, let me save her some time and I’ll tell you right now. THE PROGRAM IS NOT FOR HER.
