To people frustrated with Biden who say they won’t vote in 2024

They’re going to say— we told you a year ago you were on the wrong path. We yelled it. We screamed it. We said it in polls. And you ignored us at your peril.

Here’s the one year warning: do better. Stop marginalizing people. Stop characterizing criticism and dissent as Trumpism.

Because no matter how many times you say “blue no matter who” you will have no one to blame but yourselves. Everyone sees this coming.

I think the polling data from the past few weeks is something the DNC won't ignore. The alarm bells are ringing. It will be interesting to see the messaging that comes out of the Biden campaign in the coming weeks. If there is any chance of Biden being convinced to back out of the race for a second term, it would be best if that decision and announcement is made much sooner than later. If Biden were replaced by a normal candidate, the RNC's hand could be forced into getting Trump off the ticket mode as they will quickly realize Trump would have zero chance against a normal Dem candidate.

I will not vote for a Democratic presidential candidate unless they present a transition team free of neocon members from the Biden and Obama admins.

But you will be happy to enable the rise of a Christian-fascist leader in the alternative. Bravo!

The lesser of two evils.

I suppose if you are a White Christian, then sure. For the rest of us, not so much.

I have laid it out earlier in the thread. All stuff he could do tomorrow.

The idea that Biden and admin, a group that have no red lines on brutality, are going to care about women, is laughable. You are useful but expandable. The border is opened to allow a more compliant replacement.

Oh really? How - with his awesomeness? Reminder: he threw fuel on the fire by moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, thereby removing the US as a good faith arbiter.

DP.

My cynical side says he would throw Ukraine to Russia, in exchange for Israel (iran and Russia fund Hamas).

Ukraine would never be invaded on Trump's watch. They would negotiate some kind of deal. Russia would keep the occupy territory (that they still have despite almost two years of war), but at least there would not be thousands of dead Ukrainians and millions of displayed Ukrainians.

You are so completely full of sh*t!!

Trump would hand over Ukraine on a silver platter to Putin.

Whom do you think is behind Hamas' invasion of Israel? Whom do you think benefits most from this new Hamas-Israel war? Whom do you think continues to fund Iran who in turn funds Hamas?

Putin is Trump's best friend.

And you are going to vote to destroy Ukraine and allow Palestinians to be slaughtered because you're "whine, whine" upset with Biden?

I don't care what you do if it doesn't affect me, but if Trump wins because whiny complainers like you can't face the reality that Trump is tied to Putin who wants to destroy the US, well, I beg you to reconsider.

If Trum would hand over Ukraine on a silver platter to Putin, why he didn't do that in 4 years of his presidency? Ukraine is already destroyed to ashes and it takes at least 20 years to rebuilt. And this destruction happened on Biden watch. And I am Ukrainian by the way.

Right? There would just be less Ukraine, and Russia would have the warm weather ports it had been seeking for hundreds of years. Ya, let's just annex all countries! Let's give Alaska back to Russia and Mexico can have California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona!. And while we are at it, Canada can have Wisconsin, Minnesota and Vermont.

Any other bright ideas?

There was less Ukraine since Russia had Donbass area since 2014. It is no more Ukraine now, it is even less Ukraine now since Russia controls even more territories.

Your statement that Russia "would have" is delusional. Russia has warm-weather ports now and has controlled most of them since its invasion.

Then there wouldn't be any more Ukraine. Then what? Poland? The Baltic states? Where would it stop? Ukraine is a soveriegn country with defined borders and recognized around the world as such. It isn't ok for one country to just come in an annex it or simply eradicate it.

Right. They aren't entitled to Ukraine's ports. They can sign a lease deal or make other arrangements. They don't have the right to simply steal Ukrainian lands.

Give Trump a try.

He loves POC and has tremendous respect for religious beliefs.

I cannot vote for Biden. I feel terrible about it but he is truly a terrible president.

Afghanistan was bad; but sucking us into another war in the Middle East is unforgivable.

So you'll vote for some third-party candidate who will get 2% (at most) and live in your privileged little world, and say that when faced with a choice between democracy and fascism, you chose nothing. Good for you.

We'll say that we did not vote for genocide. Only the truly privileged can vote for genocide and sleep well at night.

Israel's mission is clear, root out Hamas in retribution for the Oct 7 attacks.
Hamas's mission is clear, eradicate Jews from the region.

Why are you both-siding this?

Israel's mission has not been to solely root out Hamas. It has been to eradicate Palestinians. See Settlers in West Bank. See continuous bombings of Gaza. See Nakba. That is not a narrowly defined "rooting out". It is an eradication.

So yes, there is clearly a both sides, which many people want to ignore. Israel has been a bad actor for 75 years

I don’t necessarily think Trump would do better, but I doubt he would be all that much worse. What would be a little better is the rhetoric of the blue no matter who crowd, they’d then at least hint at pushing back against the powerful. But with a Democrat in the White House, the blue-no-matter-who-crowd give the powerful have blank check, including doing Trump-like things including building a wall, detaining kids, and arming the Israeli right for an all-out MENA war!

The Democrats are Ho-hum in opposition, but an absolute horror show in power.

I have one criterion for a President: they must leave if/when they lose an election.

Everything after that is gravy.

If that’s all that matters to you, you deserve to loose. There are so many more awful things to be concerned about, you are just declaring you have almost no conscience.

Given, you know, all of recorded history, I'd say that peaceful transition of power is of the utmost importance.

Your disdain for it shows that you have almost no knowledge of history.

That you think you have any idea what I know of history shows you are delusional.

That your ‘peaceful transfer of power’ is the only thing you value, makes you an obvious simpleton. It’s a good thing to have, but you have to be intellectually moribund, even by the standards of our middlebrow establishment, to think that’s all that matters.

Perusing this thread, I think Biden is toast. There’s so much delusion amongst loyal Democrats that they can’t address their need to make amends with voters. These are interesting times!
