That why we need the death penalty.
It needs to be on The table for this sort of thing. It give prosecutors better leverage. |
I agree. Earlier this year Virginia executes Gray for the Harvey family murders (killed both parents and their two young daughters, and set their house on fire, just to steal some money, some jewelry and a computer. 2 people killed them and a third was in the get away car, no way was the DC murders just one person). I hope those surviving daughters (weren't there 2) are doing ok. |
It wouldn't work. |
It works all over the country. The death penalty gives prosecutors the leverage they need to recover bodies, and find accomplices- without sacrificing a life sentence. I’ll support DC statehood when DC enacts the death penalty. |

I made a thread to discuss the podcast after listening last night. Put a link to it in the first post ![]() |
Wtf is wrong with you? People were brutally murdered. You're a sh*thole for using a smiley face. |
Was "smiling" to the other poster because I was trying to be helpful and direct her to the other thread with the link in it. NOT because 4 people were murdered. Feel like I'm stating the obvious here. |
Did the trial happen yet? |
I heard something on the radio about it this week. Three years. Does anyone know? |
Aparently there were mistakes in the investigation and others are at large. They are trying to prevent releasing Wint. |
That’s not what was said in court. Do you have a citation for this information? WaPo said they have scheduled jury selection for September of this year. |
This is taking too long. More to the story - even for DC |
I don’t mind so much that the trial is taking so long. What gets me is that the rest of the criminal justice process is taking so long. If they haven’t pressed charges against anyone else at this point, it seems unlikely that they will. And, yet, it seems obvious to me that others were very involved. If you think about what HAD to have happened in that house, I don’t see how that guy could’ve done it all. That one guy, apparently without a loaded gun, holding hostage for many, many hours against their will three intelligent adults and a preteen, who all possessed intimate knowledge of the house and two decent-sized loyal dogs? The odds of one dumbass sociopath being able to pull it off are slim. I take no pleasure in saying this. I live a few blocks away, and I’ve been so disturbed by this case. |
I spoke with a high-level person in DC Fire Dept. He has not doubt that others were involved and the focus is on identifying and arresting them. |
What are the odds that the truth will ever come out?
Will these poor innocent victims ever get justice? My heart breaks for all of them, and especially little Philip. |
