I don’t mind so much that the trial is taking so long. What gets me is that the rest of the criminal justice process is taking so long.

If they haven’t pressed charges against anyone else at this point, it seems unlikely that they will.

And, yet, it seems obvious to me that others were very involved.

If you think about what HAD to have happened in that house, I don’t see how that guy could’ve done it all. That one guy, apparently without a loaded gun, holding hostage for many, many hours against their will three intelligent adults and a preteen, who all possessed intimate knowledge of the house and two decent-sized loyal dogs?

The odds of one dumbass sociopath being able to pull it off are slim.

I take no pleasure in saying this. I live a few blocks away, and I’ve been so disturbed by this case.

Sociopaths--and this guy may be one--are generally highly intelligent and extremely charming. He could have accomplished the crime--with a methodology that not many would ever think possible.

Well. Police Chief Lanier did leave the department soon after the initial plea hearing phase. So, there's that.

Back in the news again today. Trial set for September.

This guy wasn't charming or intelligent--a cursory glance at his rap sheet will tell you that. At one point he was arrested across the street from savopoulos' company with a BB gun and a machete. He definitely didn't act alone and doesn't have the bandwidth to mastermind anything. He was the muscle.

I guess it was in the news today because today is 3 years since the horrible crime (had to check Wikipedia for the exact date - but will always remember that it was on a beautiful May day).
For me this case shows again and again that real life is nothing like the crime shows on tv: three years and where is justice? Well, at least Wynt has been in jail almost the entire time.. their poor daughters..

Did we ever find out why one of the daughters filed a restraining order against her grandfather? Think it was this fall. Those poor girls, hopefully SOMEONE has their best interests in mind.

Mind your own. They deserve peace and privacy.

I’m disgusted that they aren’t sharing the theory and evidence with the prosecution.

That's the way the criminal justice system works. The defense isn't required to help the prosecution defeat their case.

It’s creepy as hell to me that the other people who did this walk among us still.
