Wuhan virus (coronavirus) arrives in the USA

It is actually easy. Focus needs to be on working together and helping contain and treat this. If anyone has even a cold then stay home.

In other words: she was young and healthy.

I think you’re conflating being a professional soccer player with being healthy.

Makes one think that perhaps the 2 cases they reported very early on who are now listed as recovered may not be a complete reflection of the situation.

Russia doesn’t mess around.

Patient is in Mexico City but no further information.

That will freak out the MAGAs.

It will probably concern Mexico, right?

My son reports several of his high school friends are sick, one with a 104 degree fever, one with 102. His dad was sick a few weeks ago with a 103 degree fever and is currently at the doctor waiting for chest X-rays because they think it may be pneumonia. This may just all be remarkable coincidence, a bad flu season or whatever. But what if it’s here and the US’s lack of response or diligence is letting it spread rampantly?

Then it would be spreading rampantly, I guess.

Also, it seems to be spreading faster than the normal flu. Is this true? How is it spreading faster?

I've been wondering the same thing. For some reason they are leaving smoker/non-smoker off of these stats.

Korea also has a heavy smoker population, but so do many populous countries that haven't recorded outbreaks yet, such as India, the former soviet block, or Indonesia.

No one believes Indonesia has zero cases.

Yes, I’m sure the top notch medical systems and extensive testing will pick right up on any outbreaks there.

The virus is in every country. I don't think we need to list them all.

Not quite. Sub-saharan Africa, South America, and central America each have just one case.

This kind of thing happens with the flu, too - young and healthy teens and adults...and it’s always shocking and unexpected. This is no different. The majority of deaths are elderly.

New term for pandemic now that WHO has more or less said they don't use that term anymore.

"Linked epidemics."

WHO chief Tedros describes outbreaks as "linked epidemics," says there's no evidence coronavirus is spreading freely and "we still have a chance of containing" it.
