My son reports several of his high school friends are sick, one with a 104 degree fever, one with 102. His dad was sick a few weeks ago with a 103 degree fever and is currently at the doctor waiting for chest X-rays because they think it may be pneumonia. This may just all be remarkable coincidence, a bad flu season or whatever. But what if it’s here and the US’s lack of response or diligence is letting it spread rampantly?

Of course it is here. It might not be what your son has. But it is likely spreading in a few cities and towns just as it’s been spreading in Korea Italy and Iran and Germany.

We just haven’t started testing for it yet.

The case in CA right now is severe or critical but most cases won’t be.

Well start hearing about more severe cases soon. Probably after Tuesday is my guess.

California is monitoring 8400 people but only have 200 test kits. This is not reassuring.

I guess we will know more if/when we start testing.

Switzerland has cancelled all gatherings of a 1000 or more people.

Next week is carnival week in Switzerland; likely all carnivals will be cancelled.

This is a big deal for the country.

Wait until Japan has to cancel the Olympics. Maybe they can postpone it to 2021? It’s a terrible idea to get thousands of people from all over the world together for two weeks then send them home to literally every country on the planet. Talk about a recipe for massive spread (everywhere).

Just saw in the news that the California patient with no tie to China was near Travis Ai Force base. Apparently a whistleblower said the folks evacuating the Corina patients there were not properly using correct protocol. My guess is someone from that base is now a carrier and that is how this woman got sick. She someone crossed paths. They need to work backwards and test all those workers. I can see now why people are upset about setting up Corona patients in their town because you have to make sure the workers are following correct protocol.

I apologize for the lack of a working link but I have found the original article in the Italian news. It’s one hospital in Lodi which is in Lombardy. They have about 50 patients hospitalized with severe cases and 17 critical. They have no more ability to care for more critical cases and need to send patients to other hospitals.

A week ago Italy reported 3 cases total.

Watch Milan. Most of the cases being reported in other countries in Europe had a connectyto a big gathering in Milan two weeks ago.

The Swiss are being smart. We should do the same right now in the US.

We’d be criticized as being overly alarmist but it would be such a smart thing to do.

Moscow's deputy mayor says 88 foreign nationals who violated coronavirus quarantine measures will be deported - RIA/REU

Makes one think that perhaps the 2 cases they reported very early on who are now listed as recovered may not be a complete reflection of the situation.
