You are absolutely right. The Mueller investigation is closing in on the Corruptocrats, and Dumpy needed a big distraction. He's got it now. Along with his other horrific decisions in the last 24 hours.

The wall is completely beside the point.

I thought Mexico was paying for the wall. Why doesn’t he shut down the Mexican government?

Of course not, this wall is absurd. It is not going to help anything.

What a sad state of affairs. Trump is requiring people to work without pay.

What happens if there is a shutdown?
Without any action from lawmakers, funding expires for nine federal departments and a number of agencies. The Agriculture, Commerce, Homeland Security, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, Justice, State, Transportation and Treasury Departments will all shutter.

More than 420,000 people will work without pay and an additional 380,000 workers will be furloughed.

The real question is how long till the democrats cave after the shutdown does go through.

I'm not sure they're going to "cave". Trump is unpopular. The wall is unpopular. This shutdown while the GOP is still in power just highlights how out of control Trump is. I bet Trump caves when he realizes that the shutdown means he can't go to Mar-a-lago because it will look too Marie Antoinette.

I agree he is unpopular but Democrats don't want to hurt the fed gov employees. I am a democrat, I just forsee them striking a deal after the shutdown occurs to avoid "unpopularity." I also bet trump goes to Mar-a-lago regardless.

Trump doesn't know who that is so he will go. The wall is so stupid and such a phenomenal waste of money because it won't do anything. He is just pandering to the 2% of Americans who make up his base.

Is he still going on 16 day vacation to Mar a Lago while many federal workers work without pay and 400,000 remain uncertain about when their next paycheck will be?
Anonymous
He cancelled Mar-a-Lago. At least not leaving today. So that may indicate that he will strike a deal.
