So you blame the shutdown on the minority party. Ok, then. |
The dems will pass the same bill the GOP Senate supported and this will end. |
Except the new Senate will have to take it up again and pass it. McConnell won't bring it to the floor for a vote now b/c Trump is opposing it. And even IF it passed and was signed, it would only push the same fight to the end of Feb. So, no...it's not over when the Dems take the House. |
A CR is hardly a solution. It only kicks the can down the road. |
That is why I wrote HOPING to put a stop.... |
I love it, and I suspect many voters outside DC love it too. |
| Yes, I am outside DC and am not missing the federal behemoth closed. Was I supposed to notice a difference? |
I dunno, what difference would a federal shutdown make to your mommy's basement? |
Most federal workers are not based in DC. 1/3 of federal workers are veterans. Many small businesses rely on a customer base of federal workers who are not spending their money right now during the shutdown. But sure, go ahead and sneer at those affected by the shutdown. |
Some fresh air. |
You mean, not spending the taxpayers' money. It's the taxpayers' money. Not the federal beauracrats', and not the contractors. |
| The Dems will cave. The only question is how long it will take and what kind of a fig leaf they will need to cover it. Trump was elected to build a Wall so he has a mandate. Schemer will paint himself as the hero and the reasonable person but he'll cave. |
Some victory for Trump. He managed to negotiate $25 billion down to $ 5 billion or 1 billion or whatever crumbs he'll get. And you think the Democrats are the ones caving?
|
| Those of you saying you won’t feel the effects- I work on offshore oil and gas. 8.9 billion to the Treasury in FY 18. https://www.onrr.gov You really think you won’t miss that? What about the IRS? You won’t miss that tax revenue? |
Just like your salary is actually the money of customers who pay your company for its services. |
