I hope there won't be RIFs but I'm planning as if there will be. I don't think there's any information that would change that.

I have an exploding offer from the private sector. I have to decide by next Friday, May 23.

I want to stay. Worst case scenario is if I decide to say and then end up getting RIFed. It's extremely hard to get a good job.

You’re kind of an idiot for even considering staying. I mean c’mon.

+1. I wouldn't stay either to be honest. I don't think there will be RIFs because I think a lot of people are going to leave on their own but I don't think the working environment is going to get better, it may even get worse.

How could it possibly get worse?? It’s pretty rock bottom.

PP here and increased workload plus potentially less flexibility (i.e. DHS mandatory 9-5). They are already expanding ding core hours.

Where did you hear anything about expanding core hours?

To be fair this is happening in my unit rather than a broader thing and for attorneys only (not accountants). Its not dramatic but they're saying they need people to leave no earlier than 3.

Just union? Or union and management?

Greg is talking to us amd answering questions. He is going to be making his way to all of the divisions so he will speak to your division too.

I have heard nothing about expanding core hours and most of my group works very early, and leaves 2 or 2:30

What a waste of time. The union has been exposed as totally impotent. It’d be more useful to meet with Mickey Mouse to ask questions. The union knows less than Mickey and has less power.

Let us know what he says. They should be doing more regular updates. I'm also disappointed. Anyone know if it’s possible to view the grievance filing and SEC response online?

It’s a pizza party between the union and bargaining employees.

Not that he’ll say anything valuable but if he does, consider sharing. No not bc we are union free riders but bc for those of us in the regions, people don’t get to us that fast.

Or they take lunch at the end of the day, WHICH IS ALLOWED.

Oh god, not this again

How do they expect people to have an appetite for a leisurely, work-free lunch when we know that every bite we’re taking, every minute we’re spending without multitasking, is adding two minutes to our commute at the end of the day. Of course people are going to wolf down their food as quickly as possible at their keyboard.
