I find it interesting that everyone thinks Ethan is "such a good guy" simply because he's not Cameron. I find Ethan to be kind of a dick, TBH. He constantly putting Harper down with her gossiping, most of which is harmless and the sort of thing every married couple would do. He won't sleep with her and is kind of rude about that. He discusses fairly intimate details of their sex life with people she doesn't like and his college roommate who he is at best on the fence about. He doesn't sleep with Mia, but that's not exactly a badge of honor there.

I’m married to an Ethan. He rarely sleeps with me and uses sex to control me. It’s a mind F%ck. I cringe watching the show because it has made me resentful and just like Harper.

And he is always picking on people, constantly looking for 0.01% imperfections in their spouse.
Watching this show makes me cry a little.

Ethan doesn’t pick on people.

When he ask his wife “can you at least try” and at the Champaign scene, he is definitely picking on her.
She is a dud but there are way better ways to handle that. I recognize a lot of pattern - the man doesn’t want to validate wife’s good traits, she gets insecure and acts out to seek attention, which in turn pushes him further.

I disagree. I don’t think Harper is a dud. She was spot on about Cameron and daphne and doesn’t see why she should have to hang out with them. Deep down it doesn’t even seem like Ethan likes Cameron.

I’m not sure I’m buying that there is a pimp. I think Luci is setting it up so Albie will give her more money and help her get money from others.

Why can’t Cameron just pay Lucia? Is he just trying to duck his bill because he’s a jerk, or is he actually short in cash? Would be weird if it was the latter because obviously they are putting a lot of stuff down on their credit cards on this trip. If he’s actually cash poor, I really wonder if his long term solution is Ethan investing with him because this seems dicey.

The deeper into the show we get, the more Cam and Daphne start to seem like con artists. It really feels like they are working Ethan and Harper over but it’s hard to believe they are going to these lengths to get Ethan to invest. It feels like either they are really messed up and playing a game out of boredom, or they have much more nefarious plans, like blackmail or worse.

There’s no actual trainer. Her kids are the trainer. She was implying that at the end of the day she spends more time with her kids anyway, that’s what helps her rationalize the dysfunction in her marriage, and that maybe Harper should look for something else to take up her own mindshare instead of obsessing over Ethan.
